Bobby Connor
Surely they should just get a 10 point deduction and allowed to carry on as normal? How come different rules seem to apply to 'real' companies as opposed to football clubs? Don't understand it? Sad news for those losing jobs. Link to comment
Lang Bar
Very sad to see a long established local company going to the wall. Not a good time for those folk losing their jobs. I know folk working in the oil industry who tell me there isn't recession in Aberdeen.I know folk from AC Yule who will tell them differently. Difficult to believe there won't be other casualties before long. Link to comment
lethal707
Not good news at all. Got a lot of friends who worked for Yule's and had done for years. Link to comment

Only the 'chosen ones' get to do that. I'm sure your relatives worked hard of course, so that you could do fuck all, very philanthropic of them. Link to comment

I haven't had anything handed to me by my parents in any way shape or form financially. Anything I have is all through my own efforts. (Donations to the lodge not withstanding) Link to comment

The Boofon
Sorry I meant in the oil industry not offshore, canna be muckle demand for double glazing in the middle of the North Sea. No need to apologise. A common mistake made by many. No I doubt there is and I have no interest in double glazing anyway. I don't even have double glazing in Boofon Manor. Single paned windows all through the place. A listed building with very tricky planning prevents that from happening at the moment. Moves afoot next year to rectify that situation. Link to comment

(Donations to the lodge not withstanding) maybe OT.. in which case.. just ignore me. you sound like you think parents providing whatever they could for you wouldn't be right? maybe none of my business.. but i don't see what the issue would be even if they had? not that someone shouldn't still work hard to build on whatever they've been given.. but why wouldn't a parent do whatever they could, to offer a helping hand, including a financial one? Not at all. Tup simply jumping on a a comment and making 2 + 2 = 5. I don't come from a wealthy background at all. Another Tup assumption. I'd be all for parents helping out there offspring. I know I'll want to set up my daughters financially for when they are older. The point raised was about inheritance. I'd rather my folks were alive than cash in on their money once they're deid. Anyway back on topic. Will AC Yule be having a closing down seal? Link to comment
Henry
Will AC Yule be having a closing down seal? No doubt there will be plenty of (seasons) greeting(s) about the demise of AC Yule. Link to comment
tup
Let's hope AC Yule himself disna log on and read some of these comments, poor cunt will be having kittens. Link to comment

If I am in a financial position when I have kids I'll help them out. I won't support them forever but I'll help get them started with mortgage deposit and things. In todays world it's almost the only option for first time buyers. I don't agree with renting accomodation if it can be helped and if I can help my kids avoid that then I will. I don't think that means kids have been born with a silver spoon but it is almost the only way for kids to start off on the ladder these days. Link to comment
