Why not petrol?

I've already got a petrol chainsaw. Use it for heavy duty work on bigger trees.

Wanted something lighter and smaller that I can throw in the Jeep as I've multiple tree limbs down here and other places that I need to chop up, but nothing I need the power of the petrol for.

Ended up getting an Ego battery powered and a cheap corded chainsaw, and spend a few hours cleaning up from the storms of the last week.

Another storm coming tomorrow, so likely back at it over the weekend.

Thinking about buying a mini sort of lean to greenhouse for growing veg and herbs. Any tips from the gardeners on here. Glass or polycarbonate etc.

Aldi do/did a small greenhouse (4 ft high) that’s a pretty decent starting point. (Presuming you don’t want sometbing you can walk in to)

Alternatively I’d just build one from timber & buy the polycarb stuff off eBay. Glass is a pain in the arse.

I know. I just want to learn some old fashioned skills. The one I bought I don’t know if it’s the red or the black part of the needle that’s facing north.

Aberdeen is north, London is south - it’s no hard to work it out

Face the sun at lunchtime, the arrow pointing towards you is north.

No idea how that is relevant.

Then you'll know if the red or black arrow is north? You said you didn't know?

What’s the logic of it being ‘lunchtime’?

The sun's in the south mid day.

It's right above your head at lunchtime.

Easy to face the wrong way.

Ignore his advice. You'll end up confused.

Also might be at night when you first start practicing with no sun available in which case you could use the North Star as a reference point. Much easier just knowing the red bit points to Magnetic North. Don't get mixed up with True North. You'll end up lost.
