Keisuke Honda is redefining how to take freekicks.

 

No longer are players taking Beckham esque inverted run ups to put stupid amounts of curve on the ball, the trend wi the modern ball now seems to be a straighter run up and hitting pendulum style with the side foot. Taking the spin off the ball makes it completely unpredictable.

Check this one out. The ball changes direction at least 3 times. Is that down to technique or are modern footballs just reverting to Jumbo 6 technology of being light as fck and going all over the place.
