Its touchscreen - so you don't need a keyboard.

 

What on earth do you need a dvd drive in this day and age for - not necessary.

keyborad? the touchscreen thing doesnt constitute a keyboard. you'ld get RSI if you used that for anything lionger than a tweet.

 

DVD player, perhaps to watch DVDs on or to upload your own CD library to iPod.

 

i got an iPod touch which is basically a portable iPad and also an iPod.

far better IMO.

 

iPads are the case of emperors new clothes. only mugs buy them. and then they'll buy the next update iPad a couple of months later.

Just another Apple marketting scam to make the already excitable fan boys jizz themselves. I have / had an iphone 4, it's a decent smartphone, but it's not the be all and end all of the smartphone. The 4S came out and again, fan boys went in droves to buy a product that was exactly the same as the other one. At least an Android phone you can customize everything and do what you want without having Steve Jobs hold your fucking hand and make sure you don't do anything that he doesn't want you to do.

 

There are already phones out there that are superior to the 4s, but it will sell much much more than the competitors because Apple have marketted the product so well that there is no way it can fail.

 

I've been toying with the idea of getting a tablet, but its such a gimmicky idea. Everything that it does, I can already do on something else.

If anyone is interested in buying one today remember you can get an extra 4% off if you go through quidco or top cashback but it's still a ripoff IMO. I'll wait fo the ipad 2 or Galaxy Tab to go under
