Hotels In Newcastle

I'm currently looking for a hotel in Newcastle. Going down there on the 29th of February to see Rammstein at the Metro Arena.

I'm sure there'll be a few folk on here who have been down before. Which hotels are best down there? Preferably something within 10-15 minute walk of the train station/Metro Arena.

I lived in Newcastle a few years ago, so I know it reasonably well. Heaps of places in and around the city centre, which are only minutes walk from the Metro Arena. Any of the search engines will provide you with a multitude of options.

If I were going for a weekend back in the toon, I'd book-up somewhere in Jesmond, then hop-on the metro down to central station. Jesmond is a brilliant area for a few pre-drinks, and is usually buzzing in the early evening.

Can't help with a hotel but you will enjoy Rammstein....have you seen them live before?...fu*king awesome..I saw then a few years back in Glasgow and Manchester...an epic experience...often think blasting a few Rammstein tracks at the players at half time would be a hell of a lot more motivational than anything Broon comes out with...couldn't be any worse...enjoy the gig

Rammstein on form are fucking quality live. Although they remind me of Iron Maiden in that their albums seem to have a few really good tracks, and then the rest of the songs are pretty average. Maybe its just me. I only actually own Sehnsucht and Mutter and I don't recall ever listening to either of them cover to cover without a few skips. Could be wrong based on their newer stuff as I've not really paid attention to them for a while. Irrelevant as far as a live show is concerned I suppose, they will be fucking great.

Good God Man! Wash your mouth out.

The Number of the Beast.

Powerslave

Piece of Mind

Somewhere in TIme

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Anyway, Newcastle. Without doubt the drunkest race of humans i've ever witnessed. People looked like 3am at 6.30pm.

Don't get me wrong I love Maiden but I just find a lot of their songs to sound the same. The good is very good, but for every Die With Your Boots on theres a No More Lies - Not necessarily bad, just nothing special.

I have a Spotify playlist with my favourite tunes all cherry picked so I don't even bother with the albums.

Only Newcastle thread I could find.

Looking to go down the weekend of the 27th April. Liverpool game on the Saturday.

Is it still the case that Jesmond is a good place to book a hotel (next to good nightlife etc)?

Looking at the train down and back but it's coming up as nearly

get yourself into Idols for a few pints on a saturday afternoon.

some cracking strippers in there.

and the MC is hilarious. Last time I was in there he introduced one of the strippers as follows (in thick geordie accent):

Our next girl is Lucy. Lucy is sixteen, she's from Newcastle and her hobbies include basket weaving, pottery and sucking cock.

Book the Jurys, full of slags, would recommend it.

Jurys Inn Gateside Quays? Was looking at that.

But trying to find a triple room that's actually a triple room (i.e. three beds) is near on impossible - even apartments.
