NorthernLights24
I'm currently looking for a hotel in Newcastle. Going down there on the 29th of February to see Rammstein at the Metro Arena. I'm sure there'll be a few folk on here who have been down before. Which hotels are best down there? Preferably something within 10-15 minute walk of the train station/Metro Arena. Link to comment

I lived in Newcastle a few years ago, so I know it reasonably well. Heaps of places in and around the city centre, which are only minutes walk from the Metro Arena. Any of the search engines will provide you with a multitude of options. If I were going for a weekend back in the toon, I'd book-up somewhere in Jesmond, then hop-on the metro down to central station. Jesmond is a brilliant area for a few pre-drinks, and is usually buzzing in the early evening. Link to comment

Can't help with a hotel but you will enjoy Rammstein....have you seen them live before?...fu*king awesome..I saw then a few years back in Glasgow and Manchester...an epic experience...often think blasting a few Rammstein tracks at the players at half time would be a hell of a lot more motivational than anything Broon comes out with...couldn't be any worse...enjoy the gig Link to comment

port86
Rammstein on form are fucking quality live. Although they remind me of Iron Maiden in that their albums seem to have a few really good tracks, and then the rest of the songs are pretty average. Maybe its just me. I only actually own Sehnsucht and Mutter and I don't recall ever listening to either of them cover to cover without a few skips. Could be wrong based on their newer stuff as I've not really paid attention to them for a while. Irrelevant as far as a live show is concerned I suppose, they will be fucking great. Link to comment
port86
Good God Man! Wash your mouth out. The Number of the Beast.PowerslavePiece of MindSomewhere in TImeSeventh Son of a Seventh Son Anyway, Newcastle. Without doubt the drunkest race of humans i've ever witnessed. People looked like 3am at 6.30pm. Don't get me wrong I love Maiden but I just find a lot of their songs to sound the same. The good is very good, but for every Die With Your Boots on theres a No More Lies - Not necessarily bad, just nothing special. I have a Spotify playlist with my favourite tunes all cherry picked so I don't even bother with the albums. Link to comment

robbojunior
get yourself into Idols for a few pints on a saturday afternoon. some cracking strippers in there. and the MC is hilarious. Last time I was in there he introduced one of the strippers as follows (in thick geordie accent): Our next girl is Lucy. Lucy is sixteen, she's from Newcastle and her hobbies include basket weaving, pottery and sucking cock. Link to comment
