CrazyBullSheep
Heard on the radio earlier today that it only 1hr to go from capsized to sunk. Which meant the guys on board never stood a chance to get survival suits on. in -17 degrees I'd imagine there won't be many survivors from the water Link to comment
The Boofon
I was on the Kolskya in Denmark 14 years ago...........nae sure if its the same rig Where you working now Buff It is the same rig. I was on it in Denmark about the same time TR. In Algeria these days. Spent a year working in Sakhalin a couple of years ago although onshore and not offshore but during offshore visits the sea was frozen over with temperatures as low as -35 C.I doubt anyone in the drink with this one would be alive for more than a minute at best. Could be interesting to see what the outcome is as apparently it was rough weather and they decided to go on tow, Link to comment

The Boofon
Mind a crew over on the Noble George got run off for this very thing happening ye bass I think I left the Kolskaya early in my second trip as it was so plum. Think it was working for DONG which always raised a chuckle seeing folk walking about with DONG written on the back of their Bon Jovi's. The Byron Welliver was good crack though. Same bucket of crap but cracking crew and crew change. Litho stewardess on there with red hair was some thing to go as well. Plenty piercings and wilder than Ray Mears on safari. The Radio Op ended up marrying one of the stewardesses. Fatshaft if you ever fancy a job offshore this rig's for you. Ooh err missus Link to comment
Redmist1903
Fatshaft if you ever fancy a job offshore this rig's for you. Ooh err missus Ha Ha! I discovered that very same rig yesterday while looking to see if the Kolskya was still on Nobles books. The Noble Dick Favor, sounds like something Prince Charles would get from a servant (allegedly). I worked on the Kolskya years ago and it was a fucking grim place back then, as were most Noble rigs to be honest. Quite liked the Byron Welliver and the Linda Bossler, good guys on there meant good craic offshift. Link to comment
Redmist1903
Lithuanian stewardesses putting it about on that rig I seem to remember that as well, some of them tidy as fook. I think a trip there meant an afternoon in Amsterdam and a night out in Den Helder if I mine right, was never in the best of shapes to be going offshore the next day like. Link to comment

Den Helder vending machines selling porn magazines of a hardcore variety. Not allowed in the UK at that time. Link to comment

I think it was the Lynda Bossler that this guy had a room and every cupboard in the room bar one was jam packed with hard core porn video tapes. The majority of this stuff would probably see you jailed in the UK like but was par for the course over there. The crew all brought on with them when they came back onshift and the collection grew and obviously the more shocking the better as they all tried to out do each other in the shock stakes.
