That's three times in less than a week that sheepishkev has agreed with me.

I sense he's intent on leaving his torn-faced-ness behind in 2011.

Steady tuppence!!

Arnason wont re-sign...there you go.....just the way you like it. Disagreeing with you....

........and for the record, disagreeing with you doesn't make you torn faced

Really good player, cracking signing for United. Definitely are miles ahead of us in the way of transfers, first division has many a fine player as opposed to the pish down south.

that el alagui boy from falkirk would be a cracking signing as well, think he's on 21 goals this season already.

How long's his contract?

If it's just til Summer then fair enough, offer a pre-contract like Utd but if he's on longer, therefore requiring a fee, then it's nae chance & therefore pointless speaking about him.

Will Utd have to pay compo to tic or County??

Gardyne is 26 - no fee

Yon gadgie El Alagui is under 24 so compensation required I'd think.

My conclusion here is that once again we have neglected a lower league player who, given time could adapt to be a good SPL player.

How long has it been since we pulled this basic scotuing trick off?

There have been plenty of players in the last 5 years or so who have come up and done well. Yet we would rather piss about with guys like Deek Young, Darren Mackie et al. We are too loath to let players move on and to slow to bring new ones in. When will we start to catch up with other SPL teams on scouting/squad management/development/contrtact negotiation? These are all key factors to a well run club. One capable employee could probably massively influence all these areas of the club which are clearly failing badly.

Pathetic of AFC to get it so wrong for so long.

I've said for a while one of the biggest failings at AFC is the scouting network (or lack of it)

Willie Miller's best mate and that's it.

When does Hayes deal at ICT expire?

I believe his deal expires in May but he's 24 so likely will involve compo as well.

May be worth a deal like swapping Mackie now (or Josh) for Hayes on pre-contract (& could also try out this deal for the Falkirk boy also)

This could be a way of covering the compo payout that would likely be required for either as we could bin either Josh or Mackie now & wouldn't cause us much problems as young Mitch (or even Paton) can easy cover the loss of either or both of these 'strikers' now.

There are ways we can get players like these if our management & the powers that be put a little thought into it :dontknow:

Are you suggesting any player wouldn't immediately drop everything and sign for the 1983 Cup Winners Cup winners?

It's easy to criticise should've done this, that and the other, however who'd be the one getting the brunt if tainboy is right and the lad flattered to deceive in the SPL?

Just because he's got a poofy haircut and is good in Football Manager doesn't mean he would've been worth it.

Speaking of which, nice to see a native of Tain, Scott Ferries become the next Pittodrie youngster to get international recognition, at U18 level.

Richly deserved, especially having his injury problems over the last 6 months or so.

Nah nah no compensation involved the lad is 25 in july.

Would really like to see us sign him up but doubt they'd deal at the moment guven potential cost of relegation

So we can offer him a pre-contract now at no cost & use Mackie or/& Josh as a rotten carrot for the Falkirk boy on a pre (to cover their compo) sorted.
