Ender's Game

I'm a big fan of the Sci-Fi genre, and probably my favourite Sci-Fi book of all time, Ender's Game, is being made into a fillum

 

On its most basic level it's about a kid who spends most of his time being attacked by bigger kids, and him being forced to punch fuck out of them, while at the same time being mentally abused by the guy who runs the military academy he was dragged off to against his will as a small child.

 

Ender, the kid in question, is tasked with winning a strategic game over and over again. And every time he wins a game those in charge stack the odds more and more against him, eventually dispensing with even the most basic pretence at fairness... every subsequent game becomes an exercise in Ender having to defeat greater and greater odds.

 

As brilliant as this book is Hollywood WILL fuck it up.... can't help but be geeked by the prospect of this film though.
