sooth_stander
Ree to sign on monday, Osbourne 1 yr extension, and obviously refering to yesterdays Hughes deal. Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Bloody hell, how many central players can a team have? Happy with Ozzy though as he looked handy at right back. Link to comment
russellh
Happy to have Osbourne sign on again, Rae on the other hand not really sure, nearing the end of his career and we have been here before with players. Link to comment
Stoney
At right back fair enough at cetral midfield largly dissapointing and if rumours about rae coming in are true another wasted wage. Link to comment
a don in oz
Rae please no. Just no.... Osbourne though I'm pretty pleased at. Hughes... well, he could be ok. Could be better than that, don't know. Link to comment
russellh
Im sure there was mention on here of a Mackie swap For Rae. Link to comment

StevieT1986
Surprised with ozzy staying another year i was sure he was gone. Been not a bad transfer window for the dons definatly need a wide man. All we need is mcardle signed up and jobs a good one. Link to comment
Sydney_Red
If Rae in equals Mackie out then I will welcome Rae with open arse cheeks. Link to comment
zander
Happy with that gives us options. Link to comment
King Street Loon
Happy that he's signed on again. At the turn of the year I thought it'd be him saying no to staying, not Arnie. I do concede, that if Rae is coming in then we will be top heavy with centre mid's.Suggests to me that someone else is leaving. My money is on Fyvie. Link to comment
Chrisyboy81
Happily surprised for a change really didn't expect Ozzie to sign. I'm very sceptical about Rae the only way I'd take him would be as a way of getting rid of mackie which really isn't a good reason to sign a player. Link to comment

K-9
Osbourne, Milsom, Hughes, Rae, Fyvie, Jack and Clark (who if anywhere plays cm is best) for next season in middle. Why? Fyvie and Jack's progress will be hampered further. Might push Fyvie to leave now. Link to comment
a don in oz
Just heard the most surreal thing from Brown on yesterday's interview, talking about the whole signing Hughes because of Osbourne and Milsom out injured. "If we're using Ryan Jack at full back we're really limited in midfield" Doesn't that mean you should... you know... sign a full back!? Link to comment

Dandyjam
Good news. That's one of the full back positions sorted then. Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
Reasonably happy with Hughes but nae so much Rae. & I think Brown is being very lazy here with his signings but then that's his way rgds old experienced players time will tell if it pays off but I have my doubts that both will be value for money. Feels like it's just a couple of rush signings as a childish fk you to Arnie saying 'see we dinny need you' I'd have Arnie on his own before both of them combined in the squad. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
as I see it Rae is essentially a poor man's severin (as was). Taken in to cover for Arnasson come June - well at least that's forward planing - plus for the period in between if a big wage offer for Arnie comes in and he doesn't fancy Starks park in the snow - again good, but longer term can only see him, like severin, with failing legs drifting back to holding position or even centre half cover. He'll need to prove his metal to me I'm afraid. Having said that, if he's a direct wage swap for Mackie then balance already in his favour. Jury's out, as with Hughes (two and a half year deal to someone who couldn't hack a month at Mwell?). Ozzie's done enough for me to merit extension. Shows good commitment and at least has a semi clue how to play right back. Link to comment
Betty Swallicks
At least now we have a bit of a squad. First away game this season at St Midden the bench was a joke. Get in a winger and a proper full back and we're in nae too bad a shape. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
What Betty said regards winger and full back Link to comment

Dont think Hughes was ever signing for Motherwell and I dont think he was even getting paid. Was just a short term deal to keep fit. He's a very good footballer - but I'm not in shock at all the soor Aiberdonians gettin on his back already!! Link to comment
sheepiekev
I'm pleased that we've re-signed Osborne - well done AFC.Osborne perhaps felt a little loyalty to us for taking what was a huge gamble on him at the time given his injury record. BUT, having re-signed him, along with the majority on here, I'm struggling to get my head round signing both Hughes and Rae.Hope they're both successful and I wish them well, but cant help feel we'd have been better using Rae's wage on a left winger. We are way over loaded on centre midfielders and can see Fyvie & Milsom getting punted wide. Still, at least it wont be the same amount of massive changes in the summer. punt, Magennis & Mackie - bring in a strikerSign a left back and a left mid and squad is not too shabby. Paul Dixon, Jonny Hayes are both out of contract - would be delighted to see them on board, although I suspect they are bound for more money in Engerlund. Link to comment

spamspamspam
we seemed to have went from a young team without balance to a retiring one without balance in the space of 12 months. As chickenkiev says though, at least we've sorted all this out early now. Link to comment

paddy
I don't get Rae at all. Ozzy signing is decent news though, surely to fuck means Folly is away though? Folly has got to be away, I think we will see 1 or 2 midfielders leaving us during this window..... Link to comment
