s1dnk
It's shit, I don't like it. Might get used to it but at the moment I don't see how it is better than the previous version. Link to comment
dazzy_deff
Just been on now, and have to say I agree. Looks pish. Link to comment
Dynamo
I like it. Only criticism is the headlines aren't very prominent. Link to comment
Dandyjam
I don't see why they had to change it. The previous layout worked well and looked good. Change just for the sake of change. It's pish. Link to comment
Site Sponsor Dom Sullivan Posted February 1, 2012 Site Sponsor Share Posted February 1, 2012 Yup, pish Link to comment
Bluto10
i used to reallty like the bbs website but stopped using after their last big refresh years ago. they never really have many articles or stories. it all seems to be match reports. Link to comment
buzz15afc
dont like it... pish!! Link to comment
NorthernLights24
I'd be interested to hear what BC makes of it with his background in web/graphic design. My personal opinion is the sport home page is far, far too busy now. Too many links and other stuff on the page and there doesn't seem to be a consistent or logical layout to it. Link to comment
RUL
Nobody likes initial change, folk even moaned about changes here! You just get used to it, I like that it's easier to switch between fixtures and league tables Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
Yenitit fans will be creaming themselves about the colours Edit: Actually it's no as glow in the dark. Maybe more Hull City Link to comment
King Street Loon
It look crap. Doesn't need a whole bit about tweets on it. Link to comment

Liam
hate it. Hated the bbc news page when it changed to a similar format. Dont use it now, always use sky. No need for change in my opinion. Link to comment
Podge
Somebody likes the colour yellow. I don't like how you have to select which league you want to view but then click update. Should be done automatically as soon as you choose from the drop-down! Link to comment
wilm1542
I like it and the whole jaundice theme the BBC are going with Link to comment
hopeisimportant
Wow it's yellow. It's like somebody wrote BBC Sport on the sun. Link to comment
tup
Trying to emulate Sky Sports News. Another sign of plummeting standards at the BBC. I grudge every single penny of the licence fee, they produce nothing worthy of note, and they dinna even pay for football matches anymore tight, elitist, egg chasing bastards in charge is the issue. tup
The move towards superficiality is always a sign that some perma-tanned Robin Galloway type is in charge of the whole operation, and has decided it needs a 'facelift'. i.e. make it smart graphics and lurid colours, whilst totally ignoring content. All I want is words, I could not give two fucks about pictures, and I want serious words, written in stern, unyielding fashion. I dinna want this vapid pish, these bastards are taking Link to comment
Bluto10
i'm all for content, but as i said the bbc f-ball website doesnt really offer much other tahn match reports. the 6 nations is very popular tup, youd realise that if you ever set foot south of dingwall,. Link to comment

Ke1t
Just checked out the BBC's new Sports page... jesus christ... did they have an old copy of Microsoft Frontpage lying around? Welcome to the fantastical futuristic world of 1998, ladies and gentlemen. Link to comment
Sheeptastic
It was fine the way it was. New version very cluttered. On the plus side, I like the tables and the form stats. Be handy for betting. Link to comment
s1dnk
I think they had to update it to the new way of making websites, html 5 or something, BC can correct me as I'm kind of guessing. They also predicted high volumes of web traffic over the summer with the Olympics and Euros so it was another reason to change, I think they thought they would streamline the site. If it stays like this they wont have that issue as nobody will want to look at that awful setup! Link to comment
360
It's shit, it was better the way it was before. Link to comment
Ke1t
If they were worried about increased traffic because of the Olympics then they could have moved all Olympics-related news to a dedicated server, leaving the rest of the site as it is. Instead they went the, 'Let's Make Our Site Look Like Shit, Boy Howdy' route. They need new IT guys... I'ma send these daft fuckers my resume. Link to comment
tup
my resume. Curriculum Vitae. Link to comment
Bobby Connor
It's a pretty impressive piece of web design, no doubt about that. Whether you like the look of it is a matter of personal taste and it will take a bit of getting used to as there is a shit load going on. Look out for loads of copycats in the next few months. 6 column grids ahoy! Also, anyone saying it harks back to 1999 has no clue what they are talking about, it uses just about every piece of modern web tech in the book. Link to comment
