BrianFaePerth
Lilyhammer A little kent fact for ye. Little Steven fae Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, maybe best kent for being Silvio in the Sopranos is a bit of a Norwegian-ophile, if thats a word. He's ey here. Somewhere along the line a program called Lilyhammer came up, and while most people would have thought it was career suicide, he went for it. Eh've heard about this for ages, and it was due to start airing in Norway around Christmas, but due to to bureaucracy has only just started airing. Eh've somehow missed baith episodes so far. It's gotten good reviews both here and in the US, where Netflix is carrying it. Netflix in the US will start showing it from Monday, so anyone interested in seeing what essentially looks like Silvio living in Norway, get yer VPN switched on and gie it a look Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
Watched the first 2 episodes now. All 8 are available on the US Netflix. First 20 mins of the first ep where no great shakes. Too much repitition of dialog at first, once in Norwegian, then a simplified English version, but that seems to have sorted itself out as Frank now understands Norwegian and most of the characters speak mainly English. Also the whole wolf story, wtf? Ok, shitholes like Lillehammer might have that problem, but there's no a wolf within a couple hundred miles of these parts. Makes Norway seem like some sort of retarded backwater. Anyways, second ep and Frank is getting in to his old mafia ways and that's much better. "Listen here towelhead" Van Zandt spends a lot of time in Bergen and this pic always confuses me. Does he look da man, or a tool? Eh'm never sure Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
Watched it all now. Decent, but a bit meh in places. They managed tae pack in every Norwegian cliche possible, which spoilt it a bit for me. Would have benefited fae having less Norwegians in it. Word on the pavey is other Soprano types want a piece of the action, but eh think that's just Norway collectively tugging itself. Link to comment
Dandyesque
I thought it said Norwegian Sopranos on salvia. Had images of fat blonde bints falling about the place laughing their tits off in really high-pitched voices. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Link to comment
