Were the better team without really threatening which says all you need to know about the game. McArdle at LB????? WTF was Brown playing at there?

Hughes was looking like our best player until he went off, anyone know the script there? Rae clearly off the pace but needs games. Vernon upfront on his own was a shocking effort, he needs support.

Oh and Fyvie was utter gash yet again.

Wouldn't say he looked off the pace at all. Does need games though.

Would agree with your general summary though.I wouldn't have McArdle in the team at all never mind at LB.

Team looked something like this because of the players we had in certain positions:

........................ Brown

.......... Considine Reynolds McArdle

Jack

Fyvie Hughes Rae Megginson

............... Arnason

................ Vernon

Jack was playing a lot further forward than McArdle. If Reynolds was brought in so as to cover Foster's departure then why isn't he playing at left back when Robertson can't?

Same old, no penetration, no creativity. Vernon had to come far too deep because he had no support until the likes of Uchechi, Mackie and Chalali came on.

We only attacked for the last ten minutes and it's not enough.

If Brown had actually bothered his arse to sign a LB then yes i agree maybe McArdle wouldnt play, but i do like Rory, but as a centre-half. If he's going to play him at full-back he'd be better not playing at all

dont know WHAT the formation was and nothing against brown but 4 5 1 at home c'mon man.....

if I could have one rule it would be a sackable offence for a manager to play 4 5 1 at home ffs to bre honest I think we had a go at 4 5 1, 4 3 3, 4 4 2, 4 4 1 1 and 4 3 2 1 depending on what we were doing

Really dont understand why he doesnt put reynolds at LB?????? surely it would have been a better option than mcardle - THAT SAID didnt think mcardle did bad there we lacked shape and direction

Thought motm was between considine and vernon tbh.

Rae was pretty anonymous, why the HELL fyvie is anywhere near a deadball is beyond me and browns back to spilling balls!

really a midfield of rae hughes and arnason should be good it was f'kin awful

Saw the team before i set of and theought it had 3 5 2 writtin all over it - about the only formatin we didnt actually try

Brown - hardly anything to do but still almost blundered.

Jack - Ok but careless with passing (like most of the team)

Reynolds - Thought he was poor.

Considine - Didn't do anything wrong other than caught out for when Jack got booked for tackle on Sandaza.

McArdle - Left back! Saying that wasn't that bad but distribution pish as per.

Fyvie - First half was the worst I've seen him play. Had plenty of the ball and maybe found a red shirt with his passing 10% of the time?

Hughes - Was our best player til he got injured.

Rae - Thought he was pretty anonymous to be honest.

Arnason - Could hardly control the ball in the first half. As I said weeks ago - over rated.

Megginson - No use today unfortunately.

Vernon - Weas played in by Hugehs and should have maybe hit the target in the first half but he didn't have a lot to work with.

Subs

Uchechi - Found it difficult to control the ball when no one near him couple of times. Couple of flashes but didn't do much

Chalali - Maybe had 1 run?

Mackie - I liked his energy and work rate. Did more in his short time than most the team.

the team as a whole todays passing was abysmal. I know the pitch isn't the best but controlling and passing is basic stuff!

Shite shite game.

This.

McArdle himself performed fairly competently but he seemed more like a left sided defender than a fullback. This meant the shape was all wrong from the back because Jack was playing as a fullback.

The only thing I could think could be the slightest justification for Brown doing this was he thinks Reynolds is too much of an asset at centre back or he's been told if he continues to play him there then he has a chance of signing him? Reynolds can actually move with the ball at his feet so it seems logical to use him as a fullback rather than use someone who is blatantly uncomfortable there.

Arnason in behind Vernon seemed to be playing for the long balls as well. It was a dire way to set out your team and if Brown hasn't accepted some responsibility in his post-match interview then I will be appalled.

Spot on with everything there young Dynamo, although i think Chalali looked bit better than what you said there. Definitely needs to start the next game, but other than that agree with you there

Scene was set when lined up for kick off. Collective groan from the fans we have left that haven't been turned off by our brand of anti football. 1 up front at home with McArdle at left back was all it needed for me to lose any confidence i had in getting a win. 80 minutes sat in and tried to hold 0-0 before finally going for it late on when Saints tired but still created next to nothing.

Having said that McArdle played pretty well (again). Considine and Reynolds handled almost everything thrown at them defensively although Reynolds could have cost us on more than one occasion with ludicrous pass attempts short before both turned to just punt punt punt to our 1 striker!!

Fyvie was just shocking yet again and somehow lasted 90. Rae did Gary McDonald impression but managed to somehow be even more invisible. Arnason lack of effort was surprising since TV game and looking to win move elsewhere.

Thought Vernon did what he could really well bar after some magic feet making mess of shot. Much much sharper and fitter looking in last couple of months.

Very very impressed with Saints midfield and forwards in first hour, with some great passing and moving and when never had ball all worked so hard. Only got into game and started attacking when they tired late on. Having said that their defense looked shaky all afternoon and was just begging for us to have go at them.

I counted 4 players actually playing in their correct position today (5 if you include Considine who was playing CH but right Centre Half). WTF?

Arnason behind Vernon and McArdle left back, is just wrong.

Wasnt difficult to call 0 - 0 we are so lacking creativity its not real. Worst thing is we have a decent enough squad that we could have a decent team if we had these wide players and natural full backs.

The ridiculous thing is with the squad we had at our disposal today, we probably could've formed a first 11 far more capable of winning the game.

There are players there to form a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 far more creative and less rigid than the team we had out there today. We might not have had so much uncertainty at the back in the early stages if we'd played player in positions they were more suited to.

Highlighted by the fact we started with FIVE strikers on the bench AT HOME

Play for a 0-0 with strikers on bench as back up

play for 0-0 that's what you get AT BEST :deadhorse:

turned up for a draw again, can't even begin to try and think about what formation we were playing.

brown - done what he had to do, good shouts and kept it simple.

jack - not at his best, misplacing passes all over the place

considine - motm, excellent throughout and won everything in the air

reynolds - similar to considine but wasn't at his best

mcardle - dreadful, when croft came on he was getting skinned for fun down that right side and his constant hoof ball is frustrating

fyvie - absolutely fucking dreadful, delivery still atrocious and has only took fans until now to realise that he's a waste of a shirt. get rid

hughes - good, best since he has came here. excellent ball to vernon who was unlucky with half volley. came off for uchechi in first half, took a knock

rae - didn't look great first half but came into a game in the second and kept everything simple. just needs a bit of game time.

arnason - average, looked good when breaking forward but nowhere near the player he has been before january

megginson - looked okay, desperately unlucky at times

vernon - done what he could, frustrating sometimes how slow he is though.

subs

uchechi - finally, a bit of excitement looked so hungry for the ball and not afraid to take on his man. got a few tricks in his locker, should start against st mirren

mackie - same as last week, came on and made our best chance with a ball through to vernon. unlucky

chalali - unlucky with volley, didn't do much else

To be honest the league table is bang on just now. Utd and Killie have greater flair than us just now but lack what we seem to have gained in consistency. Hibs and Dunfermline = gash as they say down that way. St J are probably the obvious ones out of synch basically down to the efforts of the two man team of Sheridan and Sandazza. Wasn't at the game today so someone can correct of I'm wrong. Hearts and Mwell, for totally different reasons, well ahead of the game. No complaints from me.

Could be 8th could be 6th at the split. Who knows. If we are 6th then would expect us to push onto 5th and Europe. Fancy a wee cup run right enough but that'll need a massive slice of fortune at Fir Park.

Can't remember where I saw the comment not liking McCall. For me he is that rarest of beings, an almost likeable hun. Abolutely filled to overflowing with the mentality that no team bar two deserve to win in Glasgow and if he keeps at current levels that'll be his downfall (of course the majority of Well fans would accept that). Bet the board were glad Leeds took Warnock. Sure he was in with a shout.

No wonder folk don't bother going. Why do they only bother to push with 10 minutes left. I thought last Saturday was pish, it was like watching an end of season meaningless game.

Broon is far too predictable and other teams must love playing us

EXACTLY!

Why the fuck should we part with money for a team that basically ONLY tries to NOT LOSE?

Brown needs to have a serious word with himself cos fans will not turn up for this shite TV game or not.

I dread to think what the attendance would have been the day if it'd been pissing rain & blowing a gale the day :tumbleweed:

BUCK UP BROWN or retire to your slippers

Post-match interview makes almost absolutely no reference to today's performance. Actually thought it was a pre-match interview uploaded late initially but he makes reference to the team that played today being much more experienced than usual.

Seems to have totally avoided the issue of how bad that was today and how poorly the team had been set up.

That's because that's not how he sees it.

He sees that as a job well done.

Didn't lose & didn't concede a goal

Job done (experience gets his job done) :deadhorse:

Blew a great chance to push back up to 6th & a step closer to 5th & closer to a European slot which generates more cash (look at Well) & also SHOULD have the team better prepared earlier & for the START of the league season

:suicide:

One dedicated striker at home against St Johnstone, one of the teams we're trying to overhaul?

At least we won't get relegated.

At least we won't get relegated....

I'm just focusing on the fact that things have slightly improved.

...and that at least we're not Rangers :)
