I'm hoping for a ICT win rather than a draw as we still need to be looking to catch Utd even though a cally win will see them closing in on us.

We've still to play them both so Tonights result would be best if it meant that we're still chasing top six.

United will win tonite...the top 6 for us is not going to happen...to many draws and negative football I'm afraid...thanks Brooner

If you assume we'll win games then the best result is a ICT win - this is the optimists option.

If we go back to losing freely then a Utd win is best.

A draw balances things out neatly and is the cynics choice.

As fans apparently should always be positive lets have ICT winning 24-0

No 3-3 is the best score tonight.

Perhaps soon folk will realise that perhaps Dundee United are better than us overall (despite us beating them home and away) and perhaps we should look at our own failings as to why we don't achieve things, rather than act outraged at AFC fans who don't think we should just rely on favours.

Thought we were improving big time?

Correct.

The reason we wont make the top 6 is that we've been too negative....too many games like St Johnstone at home where we just didn't have a clue how to attack/create.

The manager is responsible for that.

Little or no width and little intent on taking the game to the opposition.

9 wins in last 41 league matches suggest we are not progressing much at all, despite signing around 20 players. If last management was given the scope current management have been given to sign players then would have surely done at least as much as our meteoric rise up the league.

In reality both made a complete mess of things.

100% conjecture.

Solid base now, and a spine to the team with Considine, Rae/Hughes, Vernon that will last beyond the summer with at least three strikers moving on in the summer width is needed. As much as I look back with losing umpteen goals last season with such fondness, I feel we're moving in the right direction and this team's potential deserves more support and backing than seen in some quarters.

Since you're hot on the stats, what's Brown's loss % and goal conceded ratio like compared to the previous managers?

McGhee league record P53 W13 D12 L28 F51 A83

Brown league record P52 W15 D16 L21 F53 A60

Only significant improvement is goals against. Being able to sign 6 defenders and 3 keepers is an advantage though. As is Langfield having bad luck in getting ill.

6 of those wins came infirst 11 games aswell.

Last 41 games W9 D15 L17 F38 A47 - as shocking as anything before.

Some might even argue not conceding goals was a priority, and that a manager that had inherited a team which suffered the biggest defeat in our history would perhaps start at the back.

Turned 7 defeats into 4 more draws and 3 more wins - would've liked that to have gone a bit further in the right direction, but generally we've looked a lot more solid and if you told me this time last year we'd be bemoaning a draw and not being a bit more clinical against a Celtic team who'd won 20 on the bounce I'd have called it progress for sure.

Stats can tell you a certain amount, but from what we see at games it's what we lack rather than what we have that's the problem. This time last year the squad was a mess and we couldn't wait till half of them left - no arseholes in the squad as far as I can see, a bit of work in the wide areas as well as a partner for Vernon and we won't be a million miles off.

Last manager never had chance to get rid of the wasters either. Both ignored areas blatently needing strengthened.

For me we don't have great team and certainly poor balance but we should still be doing lot better but feel team being held back. The times we do set out to attack we can look a decent side.
