wisemongoose
Seldom will there be a more opportune moment to rid our society of the sectarianism that blights our game, namely the demise of Rangers and their following, closely followedby those followers of Celtic that hold dear causes that mean nothing to anyone with intelligence and a sense of current affairs. Imagine the impact upon society if these citizens had to do something else with their lives instead of living in a goldfish bowl of hatred basedon religious grounds? Imagine the impact upon our NHS hospitals which have to pick up thepieces after each football match involving these clubs. We seem to have forgotten what competition is and what football is all about. Sitting at Pittodrie I listen to the lengthy tannoy announcement at every home game which admirably begins with a message about racism but then has sinister religious tomes that can only be meant for these two clubs (sorry institutions). This announcement being just a small part of the apologists game that perpetuates our TV, radio and newspapers.... Chick Young etc.. I've nothing against him or any of the others. I just feel they are living in the same goldfish bowl asthe followers of the institutions and feel obliged to feed the lower IQ fish around them. For all the legislation in the Scottish parliament regarding sectarianism why don't we just allow these clubsto go their separate ways (they wanted this anyway because of money) and allow football to becomeour national game again , untinged by religious bigotry or dodgy financial dealings, and full of competitive spirit. On a more sombre and less optmistic note, I'm afraid the footballing clubs will decide to help save Rangers (for money)and nothing will change. When that day comes (the sombre part) I will after 40 years supporting the Dons, more thanlikely no longer turn up at Pittodrie or the new stadium...as a matter of principal and most probably disgust and a sense of betrayal. dervish
Vote from me. Aside from the end bit, hopefully we stick the boot right in and do our part to save scottish football. Link to comment
Ke1t
This is why you can't even drink a beer at an SPL match any more. This is why Scottish football can't have nice things. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5hL6UbstyE Link to comment
