Russel Returning In Time For Hampden?

Recommended Posts

Apparently russel anderson could make it back in time to play in the semi final against hibs. ||Would be a great asset to the team adding some great experience, but in my opinion (only if he proves it in a couple of appearances before hampden he should make the bench at the best. mcardle, reynolds and considine have been doing fantastic recently and i believe it would be foolish to break that trio up. Also i would hate to see andrew considine losing the armband(touch wood) if we reach the final, he deserves it!!

If and it's a big if, we make the finals and Anderson is fit. There is no way that Considine should be relieved of the Captain's armband.

As you say.

If the big if happened and we won it.

Considine would be captain for the game and would probably lift the cup in tandem with club captain Anderson should he be fit and in the squad.

Other teams like Liverpool (Redknapp & Fowler I think) & Man Utd (Bruce & Robson) have had captains and stand in captains lift trophies together.

Think the defence is actually fine as it is.

In particular Mcardle, Reynolds and Considine have struck up a great partnership.

Wouldnt be touching anything,

Got to agree.

Along with J. Brown, they've developed a great understanding.

Barring a major prolapse at the back, Anderson is going to have to go some to get a regular start this season once he regains his fitness.

The best he can hope for is coming of the bench for the remainder of this season, which I think he'll know himself anyway.

He'll feature more regularly next season once Mawene has gone and Reynolds goes back to Sheff Wed(hope we keep him).

This was mentioned the other day in the other thread & someone confirmed that there was no mention of Anderson coming back to play in the semi & just that he was aiming to bet fit around that time & maybe in the "squad" as a boost basically.

Quotes from Brown....

"We have given him a target of the Scottish Cup semi-final, to be fit for that," added Brown, whose side take on Hibs at Hampden Park on 14 April.

"Even if he was just in the squad as a fit member of that squad, it would be a tremendous boost for everyone involved with Aberdeen Football Club."

And Hilton FC, when I had an end of career swansong back in amateur football and Col Shirreffs graciously asked me to lift the league cup side by side with him.

No idea palmer-eldritch chief.

I canna believe the mods have been so lax as to leave Russell spelled incorrectly on this thread title for so long.

No wonder I jacked being a mod is all I can say, dumbing down is not the words.

Your bark was worse than your bite.
