looksgoodinred
I can't say I find it particularly fair if she's been pulled from the contest, solely due to being transgendered. (I'm not a fan of beauty pageants, but each to their own.) As the reporter noted, there's nothing in the rules against it, and it's not like all the other contestants are completely as Mother Nature intended. If you owned the pageant (as Donald Trump does), would you have pulled her to avoid offending some of the audience? Or no? And WYOWYN? Obviously, many take issue with even the possibility that Talackova compete in the pageant, because she was not born a woman. Critics argue that Miss Universe (and for that matter, Miss International, Miss World and Miss Earth) is a competition for "naturally born women" only. There are no recorded rules that require Miss Universe contestants to have been born biologically female. And anyone who believes that the rest of the Miss Universe finalists are bastions of natural beauty needs to do some googling with the term "plastic surgery." http://www.vancouverobserver.com/blogs/thescene/2012/03/22/miss-universe-canada-pulls-contestant-jenna-talackova-website-being Link to comment
Pudgie
Seen as no one else seems man enough... Bogging in the face but my god what a body! That would be in the bank for future use if I passed it on the beach. Link to comment
a don in oz
Shame getting dudded out of a competition for that reason. As you noted LGIR I'm sure she's not the only one in that competition that has been shaped by the surgeons. And WYOWYN? Why not. No chance of unwanted pregnancy sounds good and she has a great bod. Mind you it would depend on her being POST-OP. No fucking willies allowed. Strangely I've known two people in my life (both blokes) who felt they were always women. One at uni and one over here. Lost contact with both as they both moved locations when they switched to living as chicks. One... looked like the ugliest woman in the universe (sorry Jenna) but the other was surprisingly good looking. Which felt ALL kinds of wrong since I'd known him as a he for a couple of years. Don't envy at all those poor folks who are actually transgender. It'd be like if for some reason if I actually WASN'T the most awesome looking guy in the universe even though I know I am. Man, that'd be insanely hard to deal with. Thank fuck I don't though so that's good. Link to comment
looksgoodinred
hmm.. i thought she was pretty. but i digress. as owner, would the small-minded people of the viewing public who no doubt will voice their concerns at some point, be enough to persuade you to pull her from the contest? you'd think Trump has enough money in his coffers to withstand any advertisers who pull out as a result, and just stand for what's right.
