aberdeen1970
Anyone read Cooney's book Stand by your Reds? Got it for Xmas and finished it last night. Good read. Book claims via an interview with Duncan Fraser that we have a 20% sell on agreement for Ryan Fraser which I'd never heard at the time. Might be a wee windfall for us at some point if he continues to do well for Bournemouth Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Bizarre thing to make up if truth be told. Craig Brown was a tit. Didn't he send a letter under a fake name to the SFA when he was the scotland manager, criticising his assistant at the time (Alex Miller I think) Link to comment

Byrne Baby Byrne
Because his contract only had 5 months to go and we only would have got a compensation fee for a kid who had only played about 15 games. I think we got about 400k in the end, which at the time was decent money for him. I see no reason that we would have managed to negotiate a 20% sell on. It would be excellent if we did though. This is only my opinion and not based on any facts. Link to comment
Tommy
oh no we weren'tPlease enlighten me.We sold him when he was in contract and it would have been gross negligence if we had not includeda sell on clause. Link to comment

Otherwise, Bournemouth would be paying a development fee upfront. Link to comment

If it went through compensation we wouldn't have got any more than 400k so I seriously doubt we negotiated any add ons Link to comment

aberdeen1970
This was confirmed as false some time ago.Really? Pretty dodgy behaviour from the author then. He's stated as part of an interview with Duncan Fraser that there is a sell on agreement. Link to comment

I was just arguing that we were entitled to negotiate that in to any deal. The book implies that we got 300k for him to leave early as opposed to 175k compensation due if he went at the end of his contract. Others seem to be questioning the accuracy of the statements in the book though so who knows.... Link to comment
Donnet
Any "sell on" fee we'd get would most likely be part of FIFA's "solidarity" payment shite and not one we negotiated particularly. But you only get this if the player transfers between clubs in different countries. He could move to Man City for £140m and we'll see fuck all. Link to comment
