Apologies if already posted (On my phone, so hard to read the site), but Twitter is saying Charlie Richmond is laying into the SFA on Sportsound. Apparently quit as a referee as he felt there was no point in him being there as he "didn't move in the right circles".

 

Anyone listening? Some folk online seem to think he's confirming it's a Masonic conspiracy! Not near a radio so can't confirm for myself.

We don't really have any evidence to show these guys aren't actually just typical old school refs and the SFA are correct to dunt them.

 

Both have been around a while but is anyone actually aware of either of them being really good refs?

Doesn't matter about whether they're good or not. They weren't sacked. They both quit citing a negative culture in the SFA. In this recent case the head of the Firm came out and had a snide jab at a person. Terrible terrible form. Childish performance.

It's unprofessional from Reagan of course but my point was that while everyone is rushing to assume a Masonic conspiracy is forcing refs out of our game we have no evidence that what Richmond is saying isn't just mudslinging.

 

What's to say that Conroy and Reagan aren't themselves masons who were promoted to the top level despite being shite? Who is to say that the very reason they are being sidelined is because Regan is working to force the referees association to only retain referees based on performance rather than shady allegiances.

 

Regan is a fool for talking so openly and churlishly and he has done this before BUT I would think twice about wishing him away - any replacement will be a return to the usual lifelong OF fan or former employee. See ogilvie, peat, smith, farry and so on.

 

I don't want Regan ousted and a new rangers puppet in his place.
