Mckimmie- Legend?- Gtf

So one the eve of the Cup semi final an ex Dons captain spouts this in the local rag.......

The Legends have their say......

This will not be popular with thousands of Dons fans travelling to Hampden- but I am tipping a Hibs victory.

It will be close, as there is very little between the two teams who have both struggled in the league this season.

Ultimatley it could come down to one spark of creativity or genius to win the semi.

Unfortunatley, Aberdeen are lacking in exciting players who can grab hold of a game and turn it with a flash of skill.

Hibs have Leigh Griffiths who has the potential to really run the Dons defence ragged if he is given space.

Griffiths is a precocious talent who is capable of conjuring up goals from nothing and laying on scoring opportunities for his team mates.

Aberdeen have a proven goalscorer in Scott Vernon but he does not receive enough service. He should be on far more than 12 goals for the season.

Likewise Hibs boast a lethal finisher in Garry O'Connor.

The difference between the teams is that a player like Griffiths can provide the service to Scotland international O'Connor.

Aberdeen were impressive in the 3-1 New Firm Derby victory over Dundee United but unfortunatley I fear more Hampden heartache for the Red Army.

ARSEHOLE.

That's one hell of a story. How long you been dining out on that?

I wasnae sure if I should post it or no, because you just know something that mental is going to be hard for most to believe.

100% true though... on my first born's life.

"Aye aye", I thinks to myself," there's Brian Grant." Only to discover moments later that it was, in fact, Stewart McKimmie.

That story got me my fair share of impressed poon, I can tell you.

Take the red specs off for a second.

What he said is true.

The front 3 of Griffiths, O'Connor & Sproule are better than a front 3 that we can offer. Vernon....and erm.....oh, that's it.

That is what he is basically saying.

It's pretty accurate.

FFS, the guy is being honest and saying what he thinks....the job of a "journalist"

Don't see a thing wrong with what he said.

This thread looks like another excuse to have a go at him for giving us the finger all those years back. (Which was a dick move)

Agreed, but he is still a knob.

The problem with that article is that it isn't balanced.

He has correctly identified Aberdeens shortcomings. We do not create many chances and Vernon gets little service. Don't think anyone would disagree with that point. He then mentions that Hibernian have two good strikers, who have the potential to cause us problems... again, fair enough.

However, he fails to mention that Hibs also have their problems. They are a shambles of a team. They are poorly organised and have arguably the worst defence in the SPL and always look liable to concede at any moment. Their midfield is also completely powderpuff and similarly devoid of creativity.

McKimmie is correct that we've got problems, however, so to do Hibs. We will win today because we are much less bad than Hibs.... if you see what I'm trying to say!
