If I were Adams I'd hold out for an offer from a proper football club, and not grab the first offer that came along from, for example, a club where there's a culture of failure and a history of destroying managerial reputation.

 

An ambitious, talented manager will more likely join a club on the up rather than one on the decline.

 

I'd expect Aberdeen's next manager to be like a Jim Jeffries or a Yogi Hughes.

Adams is an intelligent man.

He knows if he does well next season he could end up at a decent sized English club in the Championship or top of league 1.

Adams went to hibs as assistant not too long ago. Manager of Aberdeen isn't too much of a stretch of the imagination. I wouldn't. But then if I was brown I'd have stayed at Motherwell.
