Chrisyboy81
I've had it for years but I've never got around to reading it. I think i'll have to have another bash, I was waiting for Skagboys coming out but after Saturday I dunno if I can handle it. Link to comment
Bobby Connor
It's not just a book though. It's a great book It really is an amazing book. Just everything about it. The humour is fucking brilliant. You have a morbid aversion to dying. You probably resent the fact that you're at war and might get your head blown off any second. "I more than resent it sir, I'm absolutely incensed. Just the best writing I've ever read. Link to comment

First time I read it, I had to start again after a chapter or two as I was coming at it from the wrong perspective. After that, I was in stitches. Might have to dig out my copy for another read soon. I can also highly recommend another Heller book- think it's called Oh God, but could be wrong. Anyway, it's the story of David of David and Goliath fame, written from the perspective of a modern man. Insanely clever and funny at times Link to comment

Will probably read it again anyway but a very unique piece of material for it's era. Took a while for the man-in-white to make sense for me. Link to comment

Put me in mind of Klinger from M*A*S*H if you remember that? Link to comment

Dandyesque
Klinger was the one that wore a frock to convince his superiors that he was insane and should be sent home. Didn't work though. I assumed Catch 22 was the inspiration for the character. Link to comment
