Dynamo
Wonder when they'll give out the details. They're doing a good job so far in enticing people back, with offering Langfield a new deal.... Dundee United-ish average next year?? Link to comment
Karl Fletcher
I reckon it'll be below Dundee United's average personally. It won't sink that low. But it won't be far off I'll just be picking and choosing my games next season. Doubt I'll attend more than a handful. Link to comment

Dynamo
For me, getting a ST or not would have very little to do with who the sub goalie was. I'm not his biggest fan and I understand the "ambition" argument, but it's just another excuse IMO. Anyway, I considered getting a ST but the Mrs doesn't like it so it'll be the occasional foray up the road. Although may still buy a dormant one as a "donation" to the club. Should the club not be concerned then that people are looking for excuses not to go, not like anyone needs an excuse though... And don't let her tell you what to do, especially when it comes to football bripod!! Link to comment

And if Langfield ends up 1st choice, it will only be because he is doing better than Brown. Link to comment
Dynamo
Again missing the point. It's hardly going to entice people back which I put in the original post, and with the general dislike of Langfield amongst the Aberdeen support, well, it's not going to help. Brown already saying he used summer budget in January.... it's just an overall bad feeling around the club just now. As usual come April/May time. Not good. Link to comment

Foster14
So far it seems that we are offering Langfield a new deal (straight from Craig Brown) and Magennis a new deal (E.E. referring to quotes from Craig Brown, not heard myself). Langfield is a strange one. He has been here for a while, has an affinity with the club and has largely been a good servant (maybe not of a good enough standard at times). I personally think it would be best for all parties if he moved on. He has on various occasions confirmed that he wants to play first team football and I am sure Craig Brown can't guarantee that. Why does it get to a point where a deal is offered and then mulled over then? Magennis being signed on is surely on the basis of him adapting to defence. That is a tad worrysome for me as well, how difficult can it be for Brown to sign a full-back who has played that position throughout his youth and senior career? Maybe he is a cheap option, but I do fear that if Magennis and McArdle were both to sign on, that is our right backs sorted for next season (along with Jack and Osbourne to fill in as well). gypsymuffin
Still undecided whether to get one or not. This season has been absolutely shit, apart from 3 or 4 games. Might just pick and choose matches next season. Link to comment

Magennis has been used at the back on numerous occasions in "reserve" matches. Still worrying that a player who has been a goalkeeper and striker is now given a 3rd position to "make his own". I think we can assume that if he was 5'8" tall and weighed 10 stone, he'd be gone. Interest based on pure athleticism alone as far as I can see. Link to comment

By all accounts Langfield is wanting a move anyway, so it makes it easy for the club. They offer, he says no, all move on. Even AFC won't want to be seen as callous in not offering him a deal after what he has gone through this year. Magennis signing on again is a worry for me if that is criteria for a professional football player these days. He has had more positions than a Virgin Atlantic Business Class seat. Link to comment
tup
Did you really have to add the 'for next season' bit in the title? No cunt is stupid enough to think you meant this season. Link to comment
