DieHardDandy
... will be Derek Riordan. Mark my words. Wait for the Calderwood-type quotes of how he's an "experienced international" and how "so many other teams wanted him" and the Brooner quotes that he's "ready to explode onto the scene". wilm1542
I swear Brown has mentioned that he won't go near Riordan because of his potential to cause problems in the dressing room. Brown is great at 'man management' so IMO Riordan is the last person CB would consider signing.... Link to comment
DieHardDandy
Brown's run out of ideas and Riordan is available. That scrawny Edinburger will be pole dancing round the posts at Pittodrie very soon. Link to comment
wilm1542
Brown cannot afford to f**k up this transfer window! Seen rumours that Hibs are interested in Danny Swanson and Jonny Hayes, if they were to get those 2 and we miss out then i would be pissed off. Time to put Duncan Frasers quote of 'we can offer the best contracts outwith the old firm' to the test with 4 solid signings. Link to comment
Tord31
Would like to see us take a punt on any of Hayes, Riordan or Swanson. All offer something different to the plodders we have at the moment. Link to comment

Tord31
Is swanson not a central midfielder? Has played all over the midfield and attack but he can run with the ball unlike many of our existing players. Link to comment
Stoney
Fair play, if i had the choice between the two i think Hayes would do better for us / Vernon Link to comment
neillyboy81
I still have some faith in Brown, but he must get it right in this transfer window. If he does not sign a proven goal scorer, an experienced tricky winger(possible Hayes) 2 experienced full backs left back/right back (not a centre half) then I am totally convinced he's not the right man. If I can see it, then surely he can. Come on with the mess the Huns are in and the potential opportunity to challenge for all honours is what every Dandie craves. Milne, Board, Fraser, Miller, Brown, Knox and the playing squad, fucking stand up and be counted and deliver some silverware and some success!!!! sorry rant over Link to comment

"mark my words" means it def not happening. Plust the fact that I personally mentioned Riordan to Brown at the Edinburgh road show Q&A session & I said we all know he has his problems but he's a fantastic striker. & Brown basically said he's NOT the type of player we need at the club & we wouldn't be interested in him. Nothing to do with football & all about attitude. We will NOT be signing Riordan MARK MY WORDS (& that's in capitals, so it has more worth than your words) Link to comment

The Boofon
Our big signing won't be Riordan - Brown doesn't want a disruptive influence in the team, he's too much of a poof to think out of the box. We'll end up with some guy from Livi as our big Summer signing..... Link to comment
neillyboy81
Hayes interest is publichttp://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2745370 Am not a big fan of public knowledge of potential signings myself, as it usually attracts other clubs. I much rather going about your business in private then announcing when the player has signed.Hopefully this doesn't affect this transfer, as I think Hayes is a good player and would like to see him in a red jersey next season. Byrne Baby Byrne
Riordan is over rated. Hasnt become the player I thought he would. There is a reason no one took a punt on signing him for about 8 months and that he only has 1 or 2 Scotland caps. Swanson is very good, but he's injured all the time. Can't afford wages on this. HAYES I am a big fan of. I really think he is exactly what we need and would make a massive difference. Get him on a 3 year contract and we'd probably make some money on him as I think he'll end up in the championship eventually. Link to comment
Miglo don
A vital summer ahead for CB that's for sure, he has built the foundations now time for the creativity and cutting edge we badly need...... I think he will get it right. Link to comment

I remain to be convinced he is the right man for the job, even more so after the semi-final debacle. Link to comment

Surely Vernon fits that category? If we can sort the problem of imagination/supply, then Vernon will bang them in. I think he's done very well to get even just 12 this season, given the horrendous quality of service he's been given throughout the campaign. Always annoys me when people bang on about signing the 'proven goalscorer' as anyone who bangs in about 25 goals will be destined for the Championship or better anyway. You talk of signing experienced full backs...who would they be exactly? I can't think of many if at all that are experienced, play in that position and would be willing to come to Aberdeen. rossafc92
Stevie Smith, Paul Dixon, even Dave McKay ? Signed for Portland Timbers this week. The other two would be decent signings, is McKay out of contract? I don't think we need to worry about signing a RB, as Ryan Jack and Isaac Osbourne do equally as good a job there as they do in midfield. It's the left back position that worries me though. Brown seemed to indicate that he wouldn't be signing a left back, as that was now Clark Robertson's position. Personally not Robertson's biggest fan, still think he's got a lot of work to do before being our first choice left back. Link to comment
Stoney
Ryan Jack is not a right back, we have the potential of a very good player there and i cant understand why we are wasting him at right back. Plus the kid cant defend for shit. Link to comment
