tup
Does that mean all three teams qualify automatically? Seems a bit much. Link to comment
Bluto10
itll never happen. logistcally scotland and wales is a bit of a non starter. if it wasnt for the millenium stadium what else would wales bring to scotlands party? Link to comment

Chrisyboy81
So with Rangers sullying the name of Scottish football world wide the powers that be think this is the time to bid for a tournament? No chance, as much as I'd love it there is not a hope. Link to comment
Dynamo
Does that mean all three teams qualify automatically? Seems a bit much. Euros are increasing to 24 teams, so you would still have 21 qualifiers. This is probably the only way we'd ever get a new ground Link to comment
Bluto10
Swansea and Cardiff's grounds ive been to cardiffs ground and its decent.but its in the same city as the millenium.that was my point. normally uefa dont like that sort of thing. fifa certainly dont. unless they'd allow two matches to be played in the same city on the same day?in which case we could go it alone,..... vanderark14
Not a Scotland fan but would be good if it came off, top international players on the doorstep. didn't realise you had given up completely Link to comment
Dynamo
Swansea and Cardiff's grounds I thought you were only allowed 1 city with 2 grounds in it? I'd presume that would be Glasgow? I don't know how many grounds you would need for a 24 team tournament, 8-10? DublinGlasgow x 2CardiffEdinburghSwanseaWrexhamAberdeenCork?? Link to comment

Would think that if we had a new ground we'd be included along with Hampden, Ibrox, Cardiff, Swansea, Millenium, Aviva.....possibly Murrayfield. have I missed any? Link to comment

gypsymuffin
France is the first euros to have 24 teams in it in 2016, and that has 10 venues. Surely we could get ten venues over the three countries. I reckon Turkey will get it though after they missed out last time to France. Link to comment
Podge
Can't imagine them agreeing to have some matches held at Dens park or Tannadice (Or Pittodrie for that matter so it would need the new one....) Link to comment
zander
Can't imagine them agreeing to have some matches held at Dens park or Tannadice (Or Pittodrie for that matter so it would need the new one....) I'm sure they talked about years ago a joint peh munchers stadium. Hopefully it goes ahead at least our new ground will be full at some point. Link to comment
zander
Apparently Georgia have bid in on their own. Would UEFA allow a four way bid could possibly throw Belfast into the mix. Link to comment
RUL
You serious? A 4 way hosting bid, do the winners of the carling cup get the hosting place? Link to comment
Karl Fletcher
Would be great after all the going back and forth over our new stadium that it would potentially be, in part at least, financed by the SFA/ Scottish Government. That wouldn't do us any harm whatsoever Link to comment
Ke1t
Maybe Stewarty Milne can go begging for government handouts again.. Link to comment
tommo1903
Did someone say you can only have 2 stadiums in one city? Would assume that would be Glasgow. HampdenParkheadMillenium StadiumMurrayfieldAviva Stadium All of the above would be big enough... Liberty Stadium - potentially for redevelopment if Swansea continue to growFoggy Dump- wont happenJoint Dundee venture - wont happen Where else could be redeveloped? Could add Tynecastle/Easter Road Non-starter if you ask me.. Link to comment
bruceg1978
Also minimum capacity has to be 30,000 so that would scupper us would it not? Or is their a possibility to add an extra 10,000 seats? I reckon Turkey will get it as well though. Link to comment
Foster14
Ibrox will always be the second stadium used in Glasgow after Hampden as it is on UEFA's elite list. If it still exists of course. If Aberdeen were to get a stadium it would be 30,000 with temporary seating. Think that was the plan last time. Link to comment

I think Easter Road was built with the potential to add another tier on the top of a stand. Cant see how that would work in a stadium that hasn't got right angled corners (if you know what I mean). They might reduce the minimum capacity if there is 24 teams though? Link to comment

Got to assume they would seek to use GAA venues in Ireland so would have: AvivaSemple StadiumGaelic ground in Limrick Cork or Mchale Park (depending on redevelopment) WalesMilliniumLiberty Stadium ( currently considering a 10,000 seat expansion as stayed in EPL)Pehaps the 2nd stadium in Cardiff with permission from UEFA if needed ScotlandHampdenIbrox/celtic parkEdinburgh That's 10 potential stadiums, not including ours or another in Scotland being built/ increased in the next 8 years. THE GRIM SHEEPER
Aviva Stadium and Croke Park are the only decent grounds in irelandthis would mean that we would only have Dublin x 2Cardiff Swansea?Aberdeen?Dundee?Glasgow x 2Edinburgh no chance whatsoever plus you have the problem of the old filth wanting a slice of the cake so which glasgow grounds do you use presuming hampden has to be one of them if dundee and dundee united were to build a combined staduim as they were going to (if our application for euro 2008 was accepted but the gaa fucked that one up) and we were to build our never going to happen new stadium then we might have a chance but i seriously think this is a non starter Link to comment

There are plans to build a new stadium in cork but anything with the gaa takes for ever, a bit like our staduim Link to comment

Mchale Park is a 50,000 odd all seater though so no problem there. Given there would be at least 7 years warning you would expect any expansions in the grounds where it is needed to be completed, Swansea, us?, stadium(s) in Ireland, with the help of Government cash of course.
