Tord31
Broon saying we have scope for one more top signing. So what position we thinking needs strengthened the most? I'd go for a left back with decent experience like Gary Naysmith Link to comment
Donmacca
If he's brought in Mcginn to be a second striker as he said then it has to be a lb. Naysmith would be a good shout, could see him being a good mentor for Robertson Link to comment
Tord31
oh and my prediction is nae a left back and that we'll bring in another first pick centre back and Considine will be shunted to left back for the games all three of them are fit. Link to comment
Foster14
I think it could be a centreback that can cover left back as well. Then possibly some loans and back-up unless Fyvie is off for any money, then there may be room for one more "top" sigining. Link to comment

I just hope he's allowed to carry on playing his own game & that Broon doesn't stifle him too much with his 'tactics'. McGinn is basically an unknown really, yes a few tims liked him but looking at the comments from the fans from his loan period, I'd say the jury is out on him for now. He may turn out a decent striker he may turn out another Mackie cos all we really know of him so far is that he has pace really so I'll wait & see as far as he goes & just that it works Link to comment

Been at Ipswich and Leeds on long term loans where he featured regularly. Think there will be plenty of interest at Championship level. Link to comment

dunf_sheep
Does not matter what defenders (if any) we bring in, if we have Clangers in goal then we are always likely to lose goals.Sorry if this upsets anyone, but I would say GK is our weakest position at the moment. 1 Link to comment

Guest
One more 'top' signing or just one more signing? Who did we just let go? Mackie, Mawene, McArdle, Folly, Arnason, Chalali, Uchechi, Reynolds and probability of Fyvie going before start of season? Replaced so far with McGinn and Hayes? Yep, same old same old. Jonty
I'd take Reynolds back. We still need another striker though. Link to comment

dezzy_dan
When you consider the lack of balance in the squad, the pishness of some of those left, the introduction of youth (Megginnson, McManus and Fraser could easily compensate for the "loss" of Chalali, Mackie and Uchechi) together with the return of those who missed large parts of last season, it's not a bad trade off so far. Another one with his feet on the ground. Link to comment

But you're not factoring in injuries. We have been terrible at keeping players fit over the past few seasons and seem to be a haven for hamstring prone players (or do something to them that creates that problem). Pawlett will amble/stutter through the season, lurching from one injury to the next. Anderson may well be out for sustained periods. Considine will inevitably suffer a couple of red cards, Rae is getting on and no spring chicken, nor is Hughes. Link to comment

I am hopeful about this guy & I really hope that he feels he has something to prove but I am not classing him as a great signing yet like I am regards Hayes. Link to comment

Plus its only the 5th of July so I think we are ahead of our usual schedule with signings. Based on the original statement of one more top signing, we don't even know what that means. Perhaps a top signing means someone getting the equivalent of an Arnason type offer, or maybe it is run of the mill. I'd also assume that most clubs will be cutting back this year as there will be some form of financial impact from Rangers going (though hopefully any reduction in income as a result of that can be matched by additional fans at the games). May be a case of further season ticket sales etc impacting on the budget available. Certainly don't see any reason to be negative yet, we have got what looks like two decent signings, in positions that were required, before any pre-season friendlies have started. Link to comment
Karl Fletcher
The potential of injuries is a major concern, however it's one every Club has to contend with. Injuries canna be as bad as last season Some people just can't see the positives sometimes I suppose. It's far too easy to be negative on EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TOPIC regarding the Dandies. I'm delighted at the amount of deadwood we've got rid of. That's my positive spin on it, I'll leave yis to yer moaning Link to comment
