Bbc Highlights Up

Recommended Posts

Vernon wasn't offside for the second imo (as I & a lot of others thought) it's close but in the replay you see the st's player stepping back in just as the ball is played.

Striker is meant to get benefit if unsure but I feel Vernon has been unfairly robbed of a good & deserved goal here.

Highlights don't show how good we were fully either, not by a long way.

Typical highlights though. At the end of the day WE know we dominated the game and deserved to win and that's all that matters :applause:

That "highlights" are dreadful and in no way show how much we dominated them. It looks like young Ryan Fraser only touched the ball twice.

Exactly. But as i say we know how shite the highlights are, nothing's ever changed. You and i were at the game and we know we played brilliantly and we've said that to others on here who never managed to make it to the match and that's all that matters, not what some Hun or Tim loving cunts tried to muster together as highlights

Yeah they left out countless other link ups he had & I think about four times when he was up ended :itch-chin:

As I said, I hope he gets the protection from the ref he deserves in the Hearts game that McGlynn has been asking for for this types of players in Scotland but will he :dontknow:

i fail to see how vernon was given offside for that 2nd, he's clearly behind his marker when the ball is kicked. shocking decision, and i'm not convinced about the 1st one either. i also see dave mackay was aloud to tip the ball round the post (langfield should take note). if those highlights aren't doing us credit we must of battered them. :scarf:

We did ebbe. The first 20 minutes of the 2nd half we were fucking rampant. I spoke to one of the stewards outside the ground while waiting to get out of the car park and he said that was a fantastic Aberdeen team and was delighted Saints managed to get away with only a 2-1 defeat

The BBC highlights and the Sportscene show in general is an abhomination of a show.

Shite commentary (Liam McLeod) apart, and usually a shite pundit who is dragged in and has no opinion whatsoever and just spouts cliches and platitudes to sit on the fence!

Their highlights generally do their best to make a game look as 50/50 as possible.

And we pay a licence fee for that shite?

Not sure about Vernons first disallowed goal but I couldnt see anything wrong with the second. It was never offside.

Could have been a pen too but i dont think the st johnstone player intentionally used his arm to deflect the ball from goal. It looked like his arm was at his side and had no time to react?

At the time i thought both goals were fine but then again my viewpoint wasn't the greatest, but having seen them in the highlights i agree with you, the 2nd in particular looks totally onside, so no idea how the linesman flagged him

just as well that wasnt a game changing decision. How the hell can the linesman not see that at a set piece!

That's a very good point.

You can just about excuse him not being up with play or the defensive line for the first one as the ball came in so quick but the second coming from a set piece is totally inexcusable to have gotten wrong & like you say, it's a good job it made no difference (in the end) but it would have made a massive difference to the scoreline cos we would likely have given them a good hiding rather than them getting their goal back & us hanging on quite nervously in the end.

Also Vernon's second half game really deserved at least one goal, so it's him that will feel most pissed off about it. Just hope he uses it to spur himself on & realises that he is back in his game & kicks on from it :crossfingers:

That's what we need to do is to put some quality balls into the box and we'll definitely score goals. We never did that against Ross County.

Yup.

Rattle them in often enough & some will pay off.

Stick in two a game & very slim chance that we'll score from them.

It's like the long ball punt game only much much better.

That was my main criticsm of the Ross County game. Apart from that we didn't do much wrong.

We did it plenty in the last 20 minutes when the team adopted a proper shape. If it had been set up like that the whole game, we'd have created many more chances and one would have been taken.

Yeah Fraser put in a few in the County game when he came on, as did Osbourne once we pushed up more.

Brown did start that game far too negatively & should have gone for the more get into them from the start approach (especially at home FFS)
