oilcat
F*cking yaaaas If Jocky had been the gaffer on that fatefull day at Ibrox instead of Smiffy we would have won the league, of that I have no doubt 1 Link to comment
Tommy
Yeah, my initial thoughts. Perhaps the wheels are in motion now. Wonder if Neil Cooper has been considered. Link to comment
Foster14
Would be the kind of appointment to aid an inexperienced manager starting oot... Link to comment

Karl Fletcher
Fit fucking like 'en Jocky! A nice surprise that, welcome back Jocky. And aye, I'd agree that's the wheels in motion for next season. Link to comment

Crossbow
Should be a good appointment as could give some stability whilst new manager comes in - if that is the plan rather than just hiring another coach with Aberdeen connections. That being said - if I were a new broom - I'd want to have some say in who is on the staff so unless things are well advanced this might not be as good an appointment as it first appears. Foster14
Jess and Jocky? I was thinking more someone already at the club. Anderson and Jocky. Link to comment

Foster14
I'd rather go with someone with coaching experience. If I remember correctly, Jess was available in the summer. If he was being considered surely he'd be here in some capacity now with preparation for next year. Anderson is doing/has done his coaching badges. He was certainly being mooted as a possibility at board level. This kind of appointment just adds wheels to that, though it is just guesswork. Link to comment

I'd rather we didn't go with someone straight from pitch to dugout - it rarely works - if we want a recent player from here I'd think about Paul Hartley - but it would be a big jump even then. Would be a bold move and AFC don't often do those. Link to comment
Karl Fletcher
I'm really hoping for an 'out the box' appointment. We very rarely take in young, relatively unproven Managers and while it makes sense to give that a bash this time, I just can't see it. I like Hartley but I think the job would be too big for him at this stage. I hope we're exploring options outside of Scotland. Link to comment
tup
I'm really hoping for an 'out the box' appointment. I'm available. I'm young, hungry, and I've got some coaching badges. Not sure the club is ready for me though. 3 Link to comment
Henry
It was an 'out the box' appointment Karl was looking for, not 'out the closet' 2 Link to comment

I didn't think he had any intention of doing so, and was lined up for an accountancy job with an oil company. Link to comment
Jocky Balboa
The start of our decline both on AND off the park can arguably be traced back to Scott's departure. I welcome his return, albeit with modest expectations. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Always felt Scott was the reason Jess and Booth developed the way they did. Both for the obvious off field coaching but also the on field barracking that the Fyvies, Maguires etc of this world so richly required. Link to comment
ericblack4boss
welcome back Jocky, this to me also looks like it could be the start of a management restructuring for next season Link to comment
