fatshaft
Scottish Open Announcement Surprised it's not gone to Trump, and no idea what they're going to do to find the length that is sorely needed for the big boys? Link to comment

Trumpton in 2015? Good year for Scottish golf though in 2014; Royal Aberdeen in July then Ryder Cup in Gleneagles just a few months later. Link to comment
fatshaft
Aye S_S, I would imagine that with the state Trumpton is in this year, this announcement is a stop gap while they wait for it to mature enough to be playable, especially as only one year announced at Balgownie? Dynamo
Wouldn't have thought RA would be long enough. Decent if you want to go and see it though! Link to comment

I'm wandering if that is to do with how long AAM are contracted as main sponsor of the event - maybe only up to 2014, so cannot announce anything beyond that. I doubt Royal Aberdeen can be lengthened any, as you already go back the way every time you walk off one green to go to the next tee. The Seniors struggled big time in 2005 playing into the teeth of a gale on days 1 and 2, but if there's no wind when this tournament get's played in 2014, the big boys will eat it up. Link to comment
Sandafc
Can only think its a stop gap till Trump is ready. A couple of years at Royal Aberdeen and then by that time Trump should have bed in a lot more than it is just now, which is all it needs as clearly going to be a fantastic course. Link to comment
tightbreeks
i've never played royal aberdeen, but i mind walking the dug along balgownie and had a wee look. i think the front 9 is meant to be one of the best but the back 9 are a bit samey. could have the 9's the wrong way round Link to comment
