ericblack4boss
just thought i would put a post up comparing the Dons teams from November 92, November 02 and november 2012. and compare the three teams , who would you take from a different era today, or who would you take from today to one of the other sides. November 11th 1992 v Motherwell,SNELDERS, S.WRIGHT, IRVINE, SMITH, WINNIE,GRANT, BETT, RICHARDSON,JESS, SHEARER, PAATELAINEN,subs used. MASON. NOVEMBER 9TH 2002 V Hearts.KJAER, McGUIRE, DELOUMEAUX, RUTKIEWIZC, McALLISTER,dn YOUNG, BISCONTI, FABIANO,MACKIETIERNAN, MIKE,subs used THORNLEY, november 10th 2012 v St Mirren,LANGFIELDROBERTSON, ANDERSON, REYNOLDS, CONSIDINE,CLARK, OSBORNE,MAGENNIS, FRASER,McGINN, HAYESsubs used VERNON, McMANUS, SHAUGHNESSY. the team from twenty years ago looks like it would give this team a real game for me replace Winnie with Reynolds , and Anderson replace Gary Smith Link to comment

vanderark14
ah, but remember the 2002 side did include the "great white hope" with the exception of Kjaer and Bisconti, that 2002 is pure grabage Link to comment
Stoney
Wouldnt mind Kjaer in this current team. 4 Link to comment
E-P-K
2002 team you can add D'JAfffo, Hinds and Michie. #lethal. Link to comment
Dynamo
The best 11 out of all those players is probably the 1992 team. With no one else from the other two Link to comment

RUL
Did someone really say the team of 1992 would give the current team a game? Are you wise min? The team of 1992 would destroy the current team. Paul mason was on the bench!! 1 Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
I'd fancy a snelders irvine bett jess and shearer 5 aside against our current 11. Agree re Anderson for Winnie, Smith, like grant was always a worker, nothing fancy. 1 Link to comment
Tord31
nice to have a great keeper and those forwards from 92 are some of our greatest ever Link to comment
ericblack4boss
aye withouit doubt that attacking players we had at that time. SHEARER,PAATELAINEN,JESS,BOOTH,and i'd include MASON showed the quality we had in attack then in reserve we had Scott Thomson,Andy Gibson ( was fucking prolific in the reserves, a player who was unfortunate to have the above ahead of him in the pecking order). now look at the list ten years later.THORNLEYMACKIEMIKED'JAFFO thats a fucking travesty Link to comment

The team of 1992 would destroy the current team. Paul mason was on the bench!! Was scratching my heid over that myself. The 1992 team would take the 2002 and the 2012 sides apart without getting out of 1st gear. The 1982 team would have taken the 1992 team apart without getting out of 1st gear. A game against the 2002 or 2012 teams would have been like a low key training match for the 1982 team. That's a handy frame of reference for anyone who wants to take note of where AFC has gone in the last 30 years, and Scottish football in general. 1 Link to comment
The Oxford Don
The '92 team could probably give the current team a game right now! And could probably still demolish the '02 team. Only encouragement for me reading those teams is that the current mob are significantly better than '02. Reading that 2002 team is like a very bad trip down memory lane. 1 Link to comment

Stoney
Was D'Jaffo signed to replace Eugine "who's yir" Dadi ?Afraid so. He did score a cracking goal at the merkland once if I recall Link to comment
The Oxford Don
Afraid so. He did score a cracking goal at the merkland once if I recall He scored an absolute beaut against Dunfermline IIRC, trapped and swivelled with the ball in one movement then curled an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 20 yards... badly injuring himself in the process, and barely kicked a ball again! Absolutely hilarious footballer, though sadly not quite so funny at the time. Link to comment

OddJob
That '92 team, just wow (with the exception of Winnie of course) Even Gary Smith in his 1st spell was still a good defender for us. That forward line was just outrageous and that's not including Booth either and Grant was as mentioned an absolute workhorse in midfield Link to comment
E-P-K
alex di rocco. nae a bad player. The very man Then we also had Fernando Pasquinelli. Link to comment
