The Boofon
Think the mother in law is getting this for Crimbo. Anyone got one or can suggest an alternative tablet other than an ipad? Oh aye, linkage>>>> Transformer Prime The TFT300 seems pretty much the same thing. Is it better? Linkage>>>>> TFT300 Link to comment
Bluto10
youre a right boring cunt boofon but occasionally you ask releveant questions i got a nexus 7 recently 32gb for 200quid. 16gb one is 150 or so quid. by all accounts (reviews and my mates opinions) its a brilliant tablet. i ditched my blackberry playbook, which was even cheaper, as the app range was very limited. that said most things could be run through it on a browser anyway but i wanted the simplicity of well supported apps. Coopy100
This topic is relevant to me as the far worse half wants one of these thingymy bobs that is both a computer and a tablet. I don't really see the point considering that I have an Ipad, a nexus 7 and a fucking macbook. p.s. the Nexus 7 is great. I far prefer it to my iPad but it isn't capable of what a computer can do. Yep it's the keyboard attachment that's caught my wife's eye as well and she wants to know if it's a worthwhile purchase. Link to comment

I'm getting one of these hybrid things. Not sure what one yet but I want a decent one. Been talking to one of the tech guys at work and he said go for a Samsung one. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Windows-Keyboard-i5-3317U-MicroHDMI/dp/B00A3M41EG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_computers_7 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-11-6-inch-Touchscreen-Convertible-Laptop/dp/B009SJCW28/ref=pd_sim_sbs_computers_1 Big difference in price and I probably wouldn't know what the differences mean. But then also read this: http://www.pcworld.com/article/262026/why_windows_8_hybrids_won_t_survive_the_test_of_history.html Link to comment

jassb
I think there's a lot of good things about Windows 8. Been to a couple of Microsoft events to get more information, and i'm convinced. Ive had a trial copy of it for a while now and i like it. But I'm not keen on any of the new hardware unless its got an Intel i5 or i7 processor, 4 or 8GB RAM, and at least at 128GB SSD, or better with 256GB. Anything else, I think it's life will be too limited and I'd stick to an iPad or Mac Air. For work, I've ordered one of these Sony Vaio Duo 11 hybrids. http://www.sony.co.uk/product/vn-duo Link to comment

But I don't need fancy graphic design apps or anything. You think the one you bought would be fine for that? Link to comment
jassb
I hope so. I want to work with it during the day and use it for my own stuff at home. Work is mainly microsoft Office and home is mainly browsing the web. And something easy to travel with too. I spent a couple of nights looking at what was available and finally decided on this one to give me what I need. Wasnt convinced that the ones with the detachable keyboards would last very well. Only thing I'm not sure about with this one is no track pad on the keyboard but at work ill plug in a large monitor and USB keyboard and mouse, and easy to carry a small USB mouse when I travel if I need to. DD1903
My mate has used one of these boof. He raves about it. I've looked at reviews for tablets and this is rated as one of the best available. Link to comment
daytripping
Tablets are good for a few weeks till the novelty factor wears off, you can't beat a keyboard and the things that a laptop can offer compared to a tablet, I predict they'll be like Betamax and die a slow death. Link to comment

Totally disagree. Kids these days are brought up with ipads and other tablets as well as touch screen smartphones. It will be how they type. Also schools are getting them in/have them already so it will become second nature to the next generation to do work in this way. Link to comment

You rate if then bloots? Been looking at a few tablets recently. I use an iPhone and like the set up with it and iTunes and all that, so fancy an ipad, but 16gb storage isn't enough and I won't pay the amount of cash they want for a 32gig. Would be used for the Internet and sticking some music and films on it etc. Even been looking at at some no brand chineser ones... http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/gtr%20electronics/products You can add all sorts to them. I've never really used android, so don't know what it's like. Any good? Is there many tablet apps? Can I put sky go on it?! Link to comment
