Aberdeen:scotland's Happiest Place

Be even happier when this labour led council stops trying to run Aberdeen into the ground and actually tries to improve the place instead of scrapping projects.

The article highlights that Aberdeen is the 3rd most populous city in Scotland and has low unemployment due to north sea oil, yet Aberdeen has diabolical public transport and it's road network is is comprised of B roads and dirt tracks.

There's new houses & office blocks going up like pop-up tents at a festival yet no consideration to the roads in the area.

Dyce is already a car park yet how many more cars will be in the area when the new offices are finished at the back of the airport, 500....1000....more?? if nothing happens then businesses that help keep Aberdeen's unemployment low will move out into the shire or even further afield.

No disagreements from me there, hopefully the bypass (when it's built) will solve the congestion problems.

There are no Catholic schools in Aberdeen; yet, several years ago, on learning that the council had voted to allow the Orange Order to hold its first ever parade in Union Street, thousands of locals lined the pavements and studiously turned their backs on the marchers

This IMO makes me very proud to live in this city, especially after having lived in Glasgow for a few years.

And Weapon have a +1 from me.
