Someone was telling me today that the last penalty

We scored away from home was Scott Booth back

In 2004 and since then we have only had

2 penalties away from home and missed them both

I find that unbelievable.

Any stattos out there able to confirm this?

did Vernon not score a pen in an away cup tie at Forfar/Brechin or somewhere like that last season?

I fired off a tweet to AberdeenStats on Twitter and they came back fairly quickly to say it apparently is true.

 

 

There does seem to be a catch though to it as we did score against Inverness in an away match at Pittodrie - http://www.afcheritage.org/matches/fixtures/mreport.cfm?fixture_id=4494&season=2004-05&squad=Senior but that match was still in 2004.

That's amazing! Considering we take a great crowd to most places, it's amazing that that hasn't influenced more ref's. Just shows that they can't be effected that much.

The only pen I remember Vernon scoring away from home was against Forfar in a pre season friendly, that we won 3-0. That was last season though.
