Tord31
1) If Butcher left that would shake up the SPL a bit what with them doing well at the moment. 2) AFC should really be forward planning who is manager next season. If it is Brown then fine get on with it but if it is not should we not be choosing the manager rather than allowing him to step into a new job if it was Adams, Sheerin etc who would be candidates for other SPL vacancies that come up. E-P-K
He recently purchased a house in Norfolk, his retirement home apparently, near his parents. Which has little to no relevance in him accepting the Barnsley job or not. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
He's done a brilliant job at ICT. Hope he gets the same amount of time at Barnsley to build a team. Big loss for Scottish football... For being ex England and Oldco captain I don't mind the guy. Link to comment
a don in oz
The one manager in the SPL I'd have liked to have seen us with. Not saying much given the general shitness but there you have it. Link to comment

Redstar
Never a chance of Butcher ever being anywhere near the AFC job...aside from his obvious hun connections (that said some AFC fans have actually accepted Knox)...Butcher strikes me as having a mind of his own and certainly not a "yes man"...wouldn't fit with Milne's criteria...Broon (old) is exactly the type Milne likes... 1 Link to comment

Liam
There has been a bit of press about a certain Jimmy Calderwood wanting to get back into management With Caley, St Johnstone and Dundee United mentioned, thats alot of cocks for Calderwood to suck in the press in the next cuming weeks to put himself in the shop window to become the next manager of one of these 3 1 Link to comment

Ladies and Gentlemen we've had our monkeys with type writers moment. As Redstar says the definitive thing about Butcher is that despite being captain of England (small thing) and also captain of Rangers (when they existed, BIG thing), despite this he has pretty consistently refused to sign up to the agenda of either. He has not spent his time in scotland writing shite in our scummy papers about how Rangers are the pinnacle and everyone else are just jealous bigots or whatever it is the "chosen" ones believe. For that alone I have to give him some respect, it would be easy to do, all the cunt "journalists" must give him every encouragement but he hasn't really done it. Then to top this epiphany moment Redstar also explains in a nutshell why Butcher wouldn't fit our club. He's too outspoken and independant. Not the current AFC way at all. 1 Link to comment

barassie_afc
Am quite sure there were posts on here last year or so castigating Butcher (usual stuff Hun bastard etc) on how he was a shite a manager etc, seems one decent half season with ICT ,he is some sort of messiah. Fickle lot. For what it is worth , I like the cut of his jib, but is he any better than Broon, probably not. Link to comment
