would have been happy with him here. hopefully it is a sign we are confident of landing better targets. last season was surprised we didnt try harder to sign hasslebaink after our initial enquiry but was obviously delighted when it turned out it was because we'd got hayes, and then mcginn

Would say County for relegation next season but I'm still none the wiser what relegation would even mean if reconstruction goes ahead.

Doesn't matter if they're 9th or 12th.

After 22 games the middle 8 start off at zero points after the split.

It's then a 14 game scramble to finish in the top 4 of that 8 to retain SPL status.

I had a feeling Brittain might've ended up at Pittodrie.

Not that fussed about not getting him, but a good signing for St Johnstone.. although odd they are sanctioning a signing when Lomas might be leaving.

I usually agree with you Tord, but I think Hasselbaink is shite.

Dodged a bullet there.

am not much of a fan of hasslebaink either but was odd we seemed to be in for him but didnt get him but you never know the whole truth and agent maybe used us to try get higher offer out of others

Did we definitely offer him something?

I seem to remember Brown denying it, but I could be wrong.

Brittain to St Johnstone, almost certainly means Murray Davidson is offski...likely to Iprix.

Think he's a loss to us. Better than Hughes and could replace an aging Rae. Clearly not on big money either if he's going to Saints. Bit of a missed opportunity that IMO.

Based on what?

A 29 yr old player who played 65 games in 4 years for Livingston and 37 games in 2 years for St. Mirren so I would suspect 50 games in the top flight of Scottish Football in 6 years.

All the rest of his football has been in lower divisions and this year has looked out his depth in the SPL. So based on that he's better than Hughes !!

Here we go again, any player who signs for other teams is a miss out by AFC...... Hasselbank was a missed opportunity, do me a favour, he is a junior player at best, I think emphasised by the fact that he is now an occasional sub for St Johnstone.

Left up to people on here our team would be full of mediocre shite players then you would hear the bitching start then !!

Havent paid much attention to the reconstruction - that sounds like a giant pile of shite. Arsed

Good signing for St Johnstone - probably replacement for Murray Davidson

Here, here.

I couldn't believe the clamour to get Hasselbaink onboard.

I'm not fussed that we've missed out in Brittain.

Better options out there.

Have to agree here. I mean he's a good set-piece taker from what i've seen, but he's nae exactly a big game changer is he so you're right there, hardly a big loss to us i'd say

Just stuck in a screamer of a free kick against St Mirren. Similar to McGinns the other week.

really like what ive seen from him this season and wouldnt minded us moving for him. I do admit his cv is not very impressive until the last 18 months as someone pointed out on another thread

Every time I've seen him this season he's been the main man behind everything County have done.

He would have been a good signing for sure

I think he'd be a more than capable replacement for either of Milsom or Osbourne (Pretty sure at least one is away in Summer)

Think we might have to agree to disagree on this one as I feel both players mentioned above are much better players, although injuries haven't helped lately. Osbourne is a different type of player and is key to our success. He makes us solid in midfield and hard to break down.

I agree though that at least one will be away in the Summer. Osbourne will get a team in the Championship easy enough.

Not convinced he'd be an improvement on our strongest midfield to be honest.

Then again, two of our midfielders are likely to go - Osborne & Milsom.

We will have to agree to disagree but I didn't actually say he was better than Ozzy & Milsom.

Both (or at least one will be gone in Summer) & he would be more than capable of filling the gap either would leave (especially from this season). Yes on their best form, Milsom & Ozzy are very hard to better but Brittain is on great form the now & yes he may just be standing out in a very average (SPL) County side but he's been good enough this season to wear a Dons shirt imo & I wouldn't have minded had we gotten him on a pre :dontknow:

Would have been an awesome swap for Clark though now
