V for Vendetta
So a quick scan of BBC Sport reveals the following additions made by SPL clubs in the January window: AberdeenNone CelticRogic DundeeNone HeartsMichael NgooDanny Wilson HibsNone but Fenlon says he will bring 2 in before the window closes St MirrenEsmael Goncalves KilmarnockNone Ross CountyEvangelos IkonomouAndre HainaultIvan SprouleSteffen Wohlfarth Dundee UtdNone MotherwellKallum Higginbotham InvernessCharlie Taylor So the question is can we really afford to sit back while rivals add to their squads and freshen things up? Is our squad really so strong it can't be improved? Link to comment

V for Vendetta
Budgets can change too folks. I'm not saying lets go nuts but some of these young players being brought in from Liverpool and Leeds probably wouldn't cost that much. So a wee loan addition might help pep up the team moral. But otherwise I don't think its out of the bounds of possibility to stretch the budget for a few months and get one in on a permenant deal. Other clubs appear able to do this. I'd also be delighted to see us move any baggage out - for me top of the list would be Fallon. Lastly with what we have paid Naysmith the last few months he should owe us the rest of the season for free - turning out to be a costly mistake I think. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Chris Clark being out is like a new signing. We'll have Ryan Jack and a few others back soon so i'm not sure we're in a rush to sign up anyone. Plus we've had people like Milsom and Osbourne back from injury so we've got plenty options. I'm not holding my breath on Milsom, Osbourne, Jack or Naysmith contributing huge amounts tbh. All have been out for a while and when they do come back are going to be nowhere near match sharp and prone to further injury IMO. Whats the bets at least 2 of them break down within 3 or 4 matches of returning? Link to comment
sheepiekev
If the budget is gone then the budget is gone. Pretty sure I remember not so long ago it was said we kept a bit of the summer budget aside incase anything came up in January though? We were a bit over budget, prior to the Ryan Fraser signing.wouldn't hold your breath for anything happening.Although we need a centre half IMO.Anderson is past it, and Considine is out until August. V for Vendetta
Would the likes of Milsom, Naysmith, Osbourne and Jack missing loads of games see us save a lot on selection bonuses? Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
If the budget is gone then the budget is gone.Pretty sure I remember not so long ago it was said we kept a bit of the summer budget aside incase anything came up in January though? hope so. Surely we can add Jordon Brown & Ryan Fraser's small wages together & add a little of the Fraser transfer to bring someone in? I know they said that money was going to the club but come on. Brown was on SSN (as was said) saying none in but he also said we didn't spend much compared to other clubs in Summer, as more went out the door than came in & also that Hayes & McGinn were frees, so if we didn't spend much in Summer, then why are we still scrimping in Jan also. Not saying I want signings for the sake of signings & because our rivals are strengthening but relying on injury prone players returning & expecting them to be our problems solved is very risky to say the least. Brown also said he wants another striker in a couple of weeks ago & McGinn certainly does need help up front cos Vernon if failing miserably (even when played up front) sadly. I wish Vernon would hit the form we all know he's capable of but it just doesn't seem like it's in him anymore. Don't mind if we are actively securing decent pre-contracts though Link to comment

Don't mind if we are actively securing decent pre-contracts though Actively chasing pre-contract is no excuse for making no attempts to use the budget cleverly and improve the team on the park. The club cannot afford to think its ok to try hard some of the things and just let other slip - that attitude will see us continue to be a bottom 6 club. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Same folk who moan about our debt also moan about us not bringing in players Just bring Pawlett back in and we have a very competitive squad Link to comment

True cos I'm guessing any pre-contracts wages will likely be covered by the departing Milsom & Osbournes wages. No excuses WE NEED JAN SIGNINGS 2 Link to comment
tommo1903
Once Ryan Jack is fit, I reckon Anderson will get dropped in favour of Shaugnessey. He's ace. Link to comment

Huntlysheep
I would get rid of rory Fallon & also Naysmith who contribute nothing & are wage theives, i'd also get rid of jason broon. Link to comment

Huntlysheep
Sort of player we should be going for good midfielder, surely if we got rid of Fallon, Naysmith earlier could have took him in. Link to comment

Guest findlay_1903
We need a to sign a bang tidy physio like Chelsea's, would get team moral up. More lads would go to the game too, just to see her pert arse. Imagine the excitement when milsom is receiving treatment AGAIN and she is bending over in front of the south. other than that, I would like to see a new goalie and centre back, maybe a left back too, as I don't see Clark Robertson being the answer. a don in oz
As others have noted, given we were told we're over budget and would need to trim the squad, we're not going to be getting anyone in unless it's a loan from a bigger club and they're willing to pay the wages (why?). Just got to live with what we have... until we can shift shit we have. Link to comment

Wait... hmm I feel mislead. Not by you but... BY THE INTERNET Picture that i found searching for her.... even though it came from a Chelsea website... isn't her. DUPED. Huntlysheep
Still think all broons signings have seen us through till now at the standard of 2 9th place finishes & 3 Hampden fuck ups i mean i ken we are never ever gan to repeat the 80's but still a higher finish than 9th is required & only mcginn is his best signing in 2 & a half years tbh.
