I like America.

The cities are excellent with Chicago being my favorite. The people are friendly, especially in the south. The golf courses are top quality and the hotels are proper 5 stars.

However, If I was taking up America, I wouldn't be championing the food, especially the awful franchise model cited by the OP. The same goes for Subway, Ben and Jerry's, The cheesecake factory, Burger King etc.

Give me small independent local restaurants, and eateries.

Pancakes and proper Maple Syrup, 7-11s and shoe shops the size of a B&Q. Fruit Loops armed better than a small to medium sized country ready to go Tonto if anyone stepped on a crack on the sidewalk.

What other country has the word "Spangled" in their national anthem.
