Amsterdam Airport Hotels

Been looking for a cheapish hotel at Amsterdam airport for a night. Morning flight is too early to go in to Amsterdam. Get there about 7pm and check out at 7am so just a bar for a few beers and a comfy bed is enough. Anyone ever stayed in the CitizenM hotel? Looks a bit of a strange place but could be ok.

Stayed in Citizen M in Glasgow and it's same style.

Well worth a stay.

Very different and a massive bed, you'll enjoy the experience.

Cheers Tommy, looking like ill give it a go. Shower and shitter in the middle of the room doesn't seem right but since I'm not sharing I don't care.

The shower is something else.

You can change lighting in room to suit the mood :-)

If you do want a jont into Dam there are trains running to and from Schiphol all night every night. Usually about every 15 minutes up to 11pm then every 30 or so until about 1.30am and then every hour after that until around 5.30am when they go back to every 15 minutes or so. Only takes 20 minutes, if your check in is at 7 you can get the train at 6.14, 6.17, 6.25 and 6.29 and be at Schiphol in plenty of time. To check the train times google NS trains holland.

If that then makes you think about staying in Dam... I usually stay at the Quentin Arrive hotel. 5 minutes walk from the station, basic, cheap and decent for the money.

Thanks triple Spam. Wouldn't mind but can't trust myself to spend a night in the Dam and be up at 6am to get back to the airport, followed by a 11 hour flight. Had many a good weekend there. Brilliant place, brilliant attitude. Not a fan of the seedy parts though. Going for a stag do in April so not that bothered about missing out this time when it's just the one night. Ill keep a note of that hotel for the next time.

There is a hotel inside the actual airport called 'Yotel'

The Quentin is in the other direction to the red light etc from the station so its far enough away for it not to be seen or heard. It also has one of the best coffee shops in Amsterdam right across from it which is a bonus, if youre that way inclined ;) I used to live out that way so spent many a night partying in the gashouder, dekmantel, studio 80 and paradiso to name a few. Only time I have been in the red light is when on staggers or giving the relics a guided tour when they first came over to visit. Ken fit like, got to see a coffee shop, the red light, the diamond district and eat stroopwafels when in Holland, so abdy says anyway.

In the airport they have one of those Japanese module hotels Yo! something. Costs about 50 Euro for 24 hours. Great value. Shower clean and LED telly at the end of your bunk - perfect for a Jimmy. Went there one time when I had a 10 hour stop with fuck all to do. Went to the casino in the airport - spent 200 Euros in the first twenty minutes then thought - "hold on, this might get expensive." Decided the module hotel was a better idea. Nice watch shopping there though, and good deals - you can play the shops off one another.
