barassie_afc
I was going to title this massive improvement, but that would be childish. I fear my positivity after the Killie away was a blip. I have watched us a lot , admittedly on the telly since and frankly it is as a bad in terms of watching football as anything I have ever seen. Last night we had players making horrendous amateur decisions, unable to pass ( nothing to do with the pitch) , looks like the out of contract guys have chucked it. There is part of me feels sorry for Brown, he was brought in to keep us up. Fair play he did. However any manager other than Mcghee would have, and again , as a financcial decision an utterly horrendous decision by the board. There was no long term plan vis a vis Brown I feel, the new guy, whoever that maybe , is doomed to failure. We will have what 5-6 players at least leaving the club( I fully expect Mcginn to go also) leaving us with a shell of average plodders and youngsters, Ryan Jack aside, who are frankly not up to scratch. We appear to continue, in the main, to produce sub standard wastrels. Personally I would bin the youth system it doesnt work, plough the money back into the first team. It is a massive rebuilding job, again......I simply dont think we have the structure in the club to assist whoever we have coming in. This season's appalling failure will leave another hole in the accounts and increase the debt, less money for the new guy. The new guy comes in it is going to take some time for the team to get motoring , meanwhile more money is lost. It really is a vicious downward spiral. Imagine if it is Derek Adams, so Mr Yule who is the one of highest paid operatives at our club...Yule : Duncan Fraser........... therein is the issue...... we need a massive cultural and corporate transformation at the club, Mcghee was correct , we need to get rid of the "drainers". Best of luck Derek, you are going to need it Link to comment

Kilkito
Good post Barassie, and hard to argue with, my depression has deepened. Theres been a number of posts stating we have the makings of a good squad, as the season has gone on this has looked less and less the case, particularly with Anderson, Hughes and Rae getting worse with every game. In terms of players we'd want here next season, theres only really Considine, Reynolds, Jack, Milsom, McGinn, Smith, Hayes, the likes of Langfield, Robertson, Magennis, Vernon, Fallon, Hughes and Rae can all go, and theres a few debatables like Pawlett and Osbourne. Thats a huge rebuilding job once again, does the club or Milne have the funds or the inclination to do this? Only way out that I can see is some 3rd party investor(fat chance) or else some sort of fans fund raising, share issue, to raise the required money. Without some major investment, its hard to see how we can turn this depressing cycle around, and the fan base will continue to plummet, could you imagine in 10 years time, fans getting misty eyed thinking back to the days we had the likes of Vernon and Fallon up front!!!! Jute
Yup agree there a good squad player. For a team looking to fight relegation maybe but pish tries hard players like Magennis have no place in a team that is supposedly focusing on fighting for Europe. Link to comment

EDIT: im nae just slaggin him, my point was meant to be how shit wev become as a club that we employ such 'players' as magennis. Link to comment
Foster14
One of the people behind us kept on shouting about Magennis being free on the right hand side in the second half. One time it goes out to him where he takes two horrific touches to try and get it under control, letting people get closer to him, then he just ran straight in to the defender. It was embarrassing seeing that level of ineptitude from an Aberdeen player, though it wasn't exactly limited to him last night. I can only assume the thinking last night was to have pacier full backs to deal with Sproule (i.e. thinking about setting up not to concede over setting up to try and score). Link to comment
Stoney
Look at the job the next manager has been tasked with. Jamie fucking langfield - no back up keeper Andersons finished, Naysmith finished Osbourne / Milsom never fit enough to play - pawletts also had his problems Rae / Hughes totally finished can count their good games on one hand Vernon as much as i like him is past his best, fallon should never have been signed in the first place Mcginn is as selfish a striker as i have seen, getting the goals but also goes on his own far too often when theres a pass on. Positives!!!! Ryan Jack, Hayes, Shaunessy, Considine, Reynolds and the mergence of Smith & Mcmanus. I really do feel for the poor mug that takes on this squad, its akin to what calderwood left us with, clapped out journey men who dont give a fuck about the club and are only here for the final pay day! its like 2008 but with less money! 2 2 Link to comment

Stoney
Listing McGinn as a negative Rae and Naysmith will be off in the summer I'd expect. Shot of Fallon and get the right player to play up with McGinn. A new manager can quite easily sort that out and set the team up to play correctly - surely if Brown/his tactics have cost us points then a different, competent manager would have had us clear in 2nd? Sorry is Mcginn one of those above critisism? Link to comment

Yesterday's attendance was 1k less than prepaid season (and half season) tickets. So those last two things are obviously a lot less important than the key factor - entertainment value.
