Sfl Clubs Asked To Consider 'colt Teams' From Celtic And Rangers

Scottish Football League clubs are being asked to consider allowing 'colt teams' from Celtic and Rangers to join a new 12-12-10-10 divisional set-up.

Chief executive David Longmuir suggests in a document sent to all 30 SFL outfits that the colts would operate separately from the 'parent' clubs.

And he is influenced by the prospect of the Old Firm leaving Scotland behind.

Scottish Premier League teams are due to vote on a 12-12-18 structure at a meeting on 15 April.

In an extract from the document drafted by Longmuir, he says: "If both clubs were to leave without the legacy of a colt team and an annual financial settlement, then Scottish football as an industry would face significant drops in commercial, marketing and media investment.

"Our games may be more competitive with more clubs evenly matched, but that would come with a potential reduction in quality and resources.

"The legacy of a colt team would allow Scottish football to profit from the global success of the parent club or team, but also provide a level of domestic football which would be competitive, interesting and attractive to fans, sponsors and media alike. It would operate more along the lines of a community club.

"Only when the parent clubs moved out of Scotland, would the colt team then have the freedom to progress through the leagues unhindered, and based on their sporting success."

Longmuir is exploring the possibility of introducing the changes in time for next season and calls on SFL clubs to view his proposal "strategically and look at this as a significant opportunity".

So they want the old filth out & into England & leaving them to ALSO have their scummy teams still in Scottish football as well? :nutter:

Talk about having their cake & eating it :suicide:

Oh & they want it pushed through for next season :wtf: how would that work if the huns still have their original scum team in the bottom league?

I really hate the SFA, SPL and SFL. They can't seem to make a decision which benefits everyone, self interest and bending over backwards for a club not even a year old and the other side of the same arse. Fed up with this shit. How easy would it be to set up a new league system of teams from the East of Scotland?

They can fuck right off with this colts nonsense.

Sick fed up hearing the huns mouth off about wanting

to play in England.

Pandering to the old firm has gone on too long and it's time to move

ahead excluding them.

I heard that many spl and sfl clubs are opposed to this colts nonsense

and if the already low credibility of Scottish football is not to be reduced

any further, the idea needs binned immediately.

Watching the news just now the usual Rangers and Celtic are looking to head to England getting trailed out AGAIN, how many times do we have listen this shite, The bbc sports report said rangers and Celtic colt teams will help the game in Scotland survive when they leave, I came so fucking close to smashing the tv what a crock of shite!

Fuck the length, just when i thought the SFL were the most ethically sound of the three governing bodies they come out with this shite,

This could be a deal breaker for reconstruction i am confident it wont get through, but why bring this into the equation now,

I to beegin with was dead against the 12-12-18 scenario only beacuase it was the cartel cunts that suggested it i now however have warmed to it and if it means getting asingle body and play offs fairer distribution of cash then i think it is something that despite not being perfect (indeed i do not think any set up can be) we should give a go with to see how it pans out.

But if those two bastards want to leave then they have got to leave full stop fuck sake they claim that the rest of Scottish football is holding them back well it appears Longmuir is wanting to hold them back

I would never set foot at any scottish game again if this happens

I've lost complete interest in football at the moment anyway with Brown in charge of us. This load of shite makes me lose interest even more.

Scottish football sucks domestically and internationally.

Fuck you Scotland.

Chairman (?) from Falkirk on the radio earlier saying how stupid this proposal was.

He said that the majority of the SFL clubs had reached an agreement on reconstruction but it was crazy at this stage to start trying to force through old firm colt teams as part of this reconstruction.

If I didn't know any better I'd think that David Longmuir was starting to worry about pending unemployment when the league bodies merge and is now trying to scupper any reconstruction plans to save his own job. :sherlock:

Although it was pointed out that "colt" teams had been discussed in the past but not in the context of the OF leaving but rather in the same way as they exist in Spain and not just for OF only "colt" teams and given the demise of the reserve league I think a few clubs might quite like the idea of a 2nd team playing competitively every week.

In the absence of a reserve league it might be a good idea for clubs like Aberdeen, United and Hibs to have their kids playing in the 3rd. Gives them playing experience that sitting on the bench doesn't afford.

But for Sevco and Celtic, I very much just want them to not exist in Scotland.

Just won't happen.

Hun/Tim propoganda to give their respective hordes something to talk about.

The Chairmen of the SFL Clubs have already shown they won't be bullied by Sellick/Sevco, this proposal will be thrown out as soon as it hits the table.

A total joke it's even in the news.

Further indication of the caliber of people running the game, people not good enough to get a job in the real world and have blazerised their way to a nice number in charge of a shitty league. Disgraceful self interest and jerrymandering from Longmuir.

Self interest is at the core of everything that is wrong with Scottish football. We are mired in it from every youth player chasing the cash and glory of league 1 football to the chairmen hanging on the coat tales of sky tv happy for and scrap thrown to them by the bigots and then to those running the game who pander to the want and will of the same to disgusting clubs. Absolutely rotten to the core, I can't stand Scottish football, it's pathetic.

this is it for me as well. At the beginning of the season I was up for it but as things progressed with scottish football as a whole I learned that nobody within the game is really up for change.

At AFC nothing has changed, we continue to play high earners or so called experienced players with out giving the talented youth we have the game time they need to progress.

Thankfully you've found the EPL.
