Bluto10
Fergie mused recently his biggest regret in football was not signing gazza. He is probably the biggest unfulfilled UK talent the past while, Sad to say but I think eion jess does for me too on a personal level. Durrant too. ... Wayne Rooney is a not her player who hasn't turned out as he should have. Who are the biggest waste of talents you have seen?? Link to comment
Ke1t
Best player I played against was Levi Stephen. Thought he would play for Scotland, without a doubt. Don't know what happened there. Jess should have achieved more, but being the West-Coast-oriented shithole that Scotland is, he never played nearly enough times for the national team. He should have moved to Italy, not England. That's what did for him. Ian Durrant, I'm informed, was not only the greatest talent of his generation... but of any generation... which was puzzling, because the Ian Durrant I always saw was a lightweight prick who was usually in the pocket of whichever players we had in midfield. And then he went to Killie instead of the San Siro. Surely the best example of a talent wasted... or maybe Killie was his actual level. Link to comment
Crossbow
Bizarrely Charlie Nicholas should be up there - truly gifted - but I suspect with proper graft in the right setting he could have reached Dalglish/Law type levels.... but he fell short - wasn't due to lack of ability but lifestyle choices while a gooner. We rescued his career. Link to comment

E-P-K
There is a few from me. Robinho had the potential to be great, and pissed it up against a wall.Balotelli - obvious reasons. My main one however is going to be Owen Hargreaves, although a tad harsh on him due to injuries I just think there was so much more in Owen Hargreaves that he just never fulfilled the talent he had within those feet of his. He medal collection is not to bad, 4 Bundesliga titles, 3 German cup and a Champions league for Bayern 1 EPL and 1 Champions league for United. Link to comment

Isn't Balotelli in his early 20's. Plenty of time yet. Picked up drastically since he left the EPL. Link to comment
tup
Tommy Wilson. Could have gone on to play for Arbroath or Montrose or Brechin or Forfar but sadly ended up in the Highland League. 1 Link to comment

360
Some guy who was a few years above me in school, Nathan Poritt. He was the main subject of that documentary years ago about agents and bungs in football, was apparently being "tapped up" by Chelsea when he was at Boro and was going to be a future England international. In reality, he played a couple of games for the reserves, one of which I saw and he was crap. Now out of football I believe Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
Charlie Miller - had he grown up somewhere else than Glasgow, and was born with a different personality..... The glimpses of pure brilliance playing for Brann were astonishing, but the other 89 minutes (if he lasted the game) consisted of him plodding about Link to comment

He ended up in Belgium for a bit if my memory is correct. Freddy Adu was only meant to be brilliant because football manager decided to big up one player, and was only a household name because folk used to talk of 'aye did you sign Adu'. He was never actually meant to be brilliant UNTIL this game made him the player he was meant to be. If no one spoke of him due to the game, no one would have expected anything from him.Pretty sure he got a ridiculously early call up for USA then FM wildly over exaggerated his ability and potential Robo.
