I wouldn't be as harsh as them to be honest, I'd maybe permit women on the roads at set times, like 10am to 12am so they can go and get the shopping in when the menfolk are at their work. And at pub kicking out time so they can go and collect their man.

Been out in the field for a while so my reply is a tad late.

 

For me its not that bad, I am based in Al-Khobar in a compound, I have a 1 bed flat to live in and a Massive US style pick up to drive around in. I get to see most of the country as I drive to all Locations on my own in my truck. Usually in the field around 20-25 days of a 35 day trip that's if we are quiet. Really very simple to get around as everything is US style and in Blocks and petrol is 8 pence a litre

 

Drink is available but at a price i.e. bottle of jack will cost ye $100 and you must know the right people where as a bottle of sidiki (home made Piss) comes in around 10-15 quid dependant on how much and who you buy from, is widely available in most compounds and is very much an acquired taste
