Being Remembered

I was just thinking lots of people worry about how they will be remembered. My thoughts are, well your deid and no longer have the capacity to give a fuck about how you're being remembered. Thoughts?

i don't know that i worried about it. but i've certainly given it consideration.

at some point in my 20s, i recollect thinking about it. i used to be a real clean freak. the house was spotless, always. and i do recall thinking that i didn't want my headstone (if i had one) to read "she kept a clean house". so i did give it as much thought as to what i did want to be remembered for if i had a choice, and then chose to live my life in a way that would perhaps lead my friends and family to think of me in those terms.

Jimmy Saville.

Aye he cared a lot about it. Hence the massive headstone.

Well maybe it's mainly you care what your family think LGIR? Which makes sense, to an extent. With family "the tribe" is part of you I suppose. Still though logically if you're dead why should you care?

Suppose if for example your kids could be happier but hate you once you're gone would you do it? Is it just an extension of ego? Die happy knowing you're in the minds of others? Is that the dream?

It's only people in the public eye who are 'remembered' in a certain way (e.g Maggie T) as the public only see their words, deeds, actions which affect them, so the persona is remembered for what they did or didn't do.

Average Joe will only be remembered by family/friends, who generally will have positive/happy memories of them (unless they were a cunt). So basically don't be a cunt in and you won't be remembered as one when you're deid :thumbup1:

'Tup's Corner' ensures my legacy will be eternal.

Until it's deleted that is

Mods are dispensible, I'm not.

I'm sure you will be keenly aware of what happened to the last moderators to cross swords with me.

Into crossing swords are you?
