He died of bacterial pneumonia, and they were convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011. But despite the fact that the Schaibles' probation required them to seek medical attention if their remaining children became sick, they chose to treat a second sick child with nothing but prayer as well. It is not possible to engage with someone who is not able to grasp what is being said, either by reason of not being able to read or by reason of not being able to think.

 

The other possibility is that they are perfectly capable of comprehension but choose to twist the record. A possible motivation for doing so is having been continuously humiliated when exposed for what they really were.
