Ace.

Vernon has scored more, in less games, in a worse team.

But hasn't won as much free kicks.

For the record, I don't like Vernon either

Pretty much this, but I don't mind Vernon- he's a trier who scored goals for 2 years- more than any other striker offered for a long time before.

I'm not convinced he's quite finished yet- he's had the odd season in his career where he has scored very few goals, but has come back the following season. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets a good return next season.

On this seasons showing it's Miller - by far. On Vernon's first two seasons, I'd pick him.

Miller by far the better footballer, didn't score enough though, would rather have Vernon's goals.

Yes, it's a contradictory statement, pick holes in it MT..

Miller was such a waste of a talent. In terms of technique and ability I don't think I've seen many better at Aberdeen over the past decade. Sadly Miller couldn't be arsed applying himself. Minimum effort and work rate.

Bold statement here, but if he'd wanted to, I reckon he could have played in the EPL. However reaching that level of consistent performance would have been too much like hard work for big Lee.

Been wasting away at Carlisle now for the past 2 or 3 seasons. Says it all about Lee Miller.

I agree, not on the Premiership (although seeing some of the dumplings playing there, perhaps) but he could have been much better and perhaps a Scotland regular. Obviously caught the big time Charlie syndrome players such as Mulgrew, Maguire and Diamond had when they were here and thought they didn't have to work hard to improve. Mulgrew seems to have screwed the nut a little since being at Celtic - presume they demand it...but the other two's resulting careers say it all.

I saw a lot of Grant Holt at Nottingham Forest and for me, he wasn't as talented as Lee Miller. Lee Miller had better technique, a better first touch and had greater awareness - when he could be arsed that is. Grant Holt just worked far harder and put in 100% - a professional footballer who made the most of his talent.

Plus the fact that Holt made the huns look like monkeys on transfer deadline day.
