Best/worst Aberdeen Kits

Every season the new kit thread seems to stir up just as much passion/debate/petty arguments as the actual football.

 

Which kits do you think were the best or worst we've seen our team play in?

 

Worst Home:

 

The 2008/09 kit was the low point of the Nike/Just Sport era. The kit felt cheap and look at the club crest! I think they were claiming this felt badge was high tech and the future for club crests/badges. The 2008/09 season was also the season where I look back at the squad and you think "Fucking hell, most of these guys were grade A bell ends".

 

 

Worst Away:

 

The home/away version of this kit were decent but the yellow/black was just horrific. Again, like this seasons effort this one was rarely seen in action. I can recall us playing down at Tynecastle in it but that is about it.

 

 

Favourite Away:

 

This was probably the last time (2003/04 I think) we released a black/gold alternate kit and it was actually a good kit. I still have my one and worn it a couple of times this season.

 

 

Favourite Home:

 

I might be the only one who nominates this one but I really liked the 2002-04 home kit. Sadly I lost mine during the trip to Madrid back in 2007

The best kit was the Adidas 82/83 kits, both home and away.

 

In my lifetime my favourites are the two tone nike kits, worn during the season we finished third.

yep the JVC home kit for me was the best .

worst kit had to be the Northsound away one with the vomit down it.

We could have the most offensive, vomit inducing worst excuse for a shirt ever made by a human being, but as long as it was worn by team that is decent then I couldn't care less if it was a Rab C Vest with stripes!

 

I do really like the latest home top and the black away one shown above with the gold stripes down it though.

I really like this seasons home kit. I like this season away jersey too, just a pity we hardly ever played in it apart from a few friendlies.

 

I didn't like the Le Coq sportif home kit, whatever year that was.

100% agree, best home and away kits ever. Me and my bro's had both kits and quite frankly never had them off during the summer hols, tiny fucking shorts though.

Late 70s Admiral kit for best home one. Worst home kit:

 

This one would be my favourite home. Loved the shiny floodlight material and thought it looked excellent out on the pitch. Had a long sleeve one that was about two sizes too big for me because that was the way the young lads like McNaughton used to wear theirs.

 

I've liked pretty much all of the black and gold ones, they've been done pretty well. This season's in particular is a good one.

was that JVC away shirt not originally dark blue but someone from umbro was standing behind a chainlink fence, when they came round with white paint sprayer

wish I still kept my full strip, the 83 pin stripe effort. I wore it all Christmas day and it went bobbly. the other cracking strip I mind having was the white diagonal window pane one, 86 or something.

That was the first Aberdeen kit I can remember owning. Picked it up at our primary school jumble sale if I remember correctly. It was a pretty good one and it was certainly one I considered for my favourite away kit. Wouldn't mind seeing something similar for a future away kit. It would certainly make a change.

Home Kit should be all red with white trim... away should be all white with red trim. Third kit... should never be needed.

 

Blue doesn't belong on the Aberdeen strip under any circumstances.

Loved the JVC ones as a kid and I have always had a soft spot for the ones we wore in Fergie's last full season.

 

 

 

Everyone at school had the home version but by the time I got around to getting one mum got me the follow up which I wasn't as keen on.

Did young onto Simpson Sports at the top end of town where Drew Jarvie worked, down stairs in The Rubber Shop (which was ace), or Robert Rae's? (Marschial St, George St, or at the Indoor Markert beside BHS?

another shirt i liked was the last nike home shirt. , the last new shirt bought
