Ke1t
Politicians are scum... I think that's a fair comment. There should be three mandatory tests for any politician. Jocky Balboa
As I said in the Independence thread, I voted UKIP in 2010, as they were the only credible alternative down south to the corrupt Lib-Lab-Con ruling classes. I remained sceptical, however, and with good cause. After all, it's easy to ride bandwagons and gain a wave of protest votes by telling people what you stand AGAINST, but they rarely told us what they stand FOR. Well, they have gradually showed their true colours since 2010... they are nothing more than a haven for disgruntled (Thatcherite) Tories and BNP/National Front losers. I don't know if their growth is sustainable (I see more and more turn their way down here, as the 3 main parties continue to fail) but if they ever took power, well... Scotland should be afraid. Be VERY afraid. Remember the 80's and how Scotland was marginalised? I do. Never again. The YES! vote looks even more sensible now, in light of these clowns. 1 Link to comment

Jonty
What was so scary about what Nigel Farage was going to say that he wasnt given the opportunity to say it? If UKIP have paid their deposit to stand they have as much right to a platform as the rest of the the folk standing in the election, Farage speaks more sense than half the Labour / Tory /SNP no notes that will be standing anyway. 2 Link to comment

Are you for fucking real??? Nigel, the quintessential Nigel, Nigel's policies would collapse both the banking sector and the oil and gas sector within months of them coming into force. His EU stance, under current immigration laws, would see close to 30% of the people working in the city chucked out of the country, who would then take these jobs? The uneducated?? His stance on non EU migrant workers would also see the North Sea stop production. What would happen to the UK economy if that happened? Its all well and good thinking British jobs for British people but when the people of Britain arent qualified or capable of carrying out the work then the work stops and the economy folds. Saying that, a lot of the people protesting were protesting against his racist, xenophobic stance on anything not English, even some English people came to protest. Add that to the fact he thought Edinburgh was close enough to Donside for his visit to make any sort of difference to the result of a by-election says it all about the man and his views on Scotland, he can GTF as far as Scottish politics is concerned. 2 Link to comment

That's basically one third of people right? Fuck me Spam that's right up there with £40 trillion worth of oil in the sea. Where do you pull your bullshit facts from? UKIP is actually all for retaining skilled workers of whatever nationality, what they are against is being flooded with low skilled foreigners whilst a large proportion of the local workers sit on their arses collecting dole money cos menial jobs are beneath them. What's the problem there? And the reason he was in Edinburgh in he first place is because he was meeting journalists to discuss the forthcoming campaign. Funnily enough the majority of Scottish political journos are based in Edinburgh, not fuckin Bridge of Don or Tillydrone. He even had the decency to admit he knows fuck all about Aberdeen, unlike the usual political student cunts who get parachuted into the area to stand for the "major" parties. Which no note is standing for the SNP anyway? 1 1 Link to comment

Which no note is standing for the SNP anyway? London census shows less that 50% of Londons population is BritishBank of England demographics show that more that 15% of their employees in London are from ethnic minorities in some departments. It also states that not all staff filled in their ethnic background so this figure is higher. Ethnic minority does not include non UK whites.HBOS figures were closer to 40% but that also took in the retail sectorHSBC has a high proportion of Chinese and Singaporeans working in London Then of course there are the Jewish and Muslim banks that only employ Jews and MuslimsLets not forget the large Arab investment houses in Kings Cross either, all staffed up with foreign nationals, all investing money into the country, a lot up here in the oil industry. UKIP's plans for immigration are the same but tighter that the Conservatives. That means the type of degree you have and whether or not the role you are applying for is on the skills shortage list. Banks and oil companies are struggling now to gain visas. Under tighter regulations there would be even less. If sebveral governments havent managed to get the balance right what hope does some jumped up Nigel who's last real political job was under Major have. Oh yeh, your reason for starting a by election campaign 200 miles from the seat really makes sense. So much so I'm just surprised none of the other parties do it. Link to comment
dervish
Allow me to translate: Dear Tory Vote, Everyone else doesn't get you, especially the Tories. I however as a former city trader am a man of the people, like you. Tories they are mental (not you though obvs). Tories used to be cool, hate gays, foreigners, and green energy. Sadly this is no longer true. If you are a Tory, who wants to tell Europe (our main trading partner, and perceptual excuse for recent poor growth) to get to fuck. Perhaps you wish to hate gays, foreigners, green energy and maybe even indulge a bit of jock baiting. It's time to be nationalistic (just like I slated the sweaty socks for a few days ago) and hate other people because they are different, and you are better than them. Yours sincerely, Nige Farage MEPLead cuntbag. P.S. Labour Lib Dems you're even more a bunch of spazzys, we'll take your vote though too, lol. 1 1 Link to comment

a don in oz
I caught some of this when it was going on.... accusations of racism, anti-English xenophobia against the SNP because of this protest. Turned out the guy that was arrested at it - obviously the worst of the worst, right? - was English and was there because hey, he hated this fish-eyed fishy scumbag's politics. The whole "see, the SNP are anti-English meanies" schtick vanished quite quickly after that. A lot of bullshit goes around about the SNP hating the English, which is just idiotic given there are English SNP MSPs and English SNP councilors for long before that. I am SNP, would vote Yes if I was there, and find most English I know to be just like most other people. Strangely enough you get good and bad because people are people are people. This particular guy is a twat, a racist twat and absolute scum. He peddles the worst kind of politics, far beyond normal partisan flavour of the month that you can like or loathe, into dangerous. That he is English is neither here nor there in that judgment. Link to comment

If you're going to vote no its for 2 reason. 1, you've either got a brain in your head, looked at what it will do/wont do for you and decided, wrongly in my mind but still decided none the less that you'd prefer to stay in the union or 2, you're thick as the proverbial pig shit and have bought into the Scotland will die alone, Scotland cant survive bollocks and having some brain dead Nigel say the SNP are racist will just back up your thoughts.
