looksgoodinred
summer's here and you can't help but love a BBQ.(not that i don't do it in winter too, but not as much) anything off a grill is best. but my favourites have got to be either steak or salmon or sausages. have you got a favourite? and do you have a preference for charcoal or gas BBQs? (i choose gas, just because it's quicker and easier for me. i suck at starting charcoal grills.) Link to comment
MincePie
Burger + Bacon + Jack Daniels barbecue sauce + some melted cheese + a bun = wow. 1 Link to comment
looksgoodinred
pork chops are great on the grill. i'm going to try them glazed with a port wine serrano pepper jelly this week. spicy. sweet. charred. i do you feel it's bad form if someone gnaws the bone a bit when they're done (steak, pork chops)?somehow it doesn't seem so bad (to me onywye) when you're sitting on a deck eating bbq with just family. and those charred bits taste so good. daytripping
Sirloin steak and pepper kebabs, brush with olive oil, the juiciest way you'll ever eat steak. got to be charcoal and cooked by the man of the house, when it comes to flames women can step aside and go do their hair or pour some drinks. 4 Link to comment

I'd do it in shorts and flip flops, probably bare chested, and If you lived with me you ain't going near that barbie! it's in our genes from caveman days, the man catches and cooks, the woman stays away from the fire and makes herself pretty for after dinner. 1 Link to comment

granite sheep
Lamb chops. The moroccan marinated ones Tesco used to sell were utterly divine, however doin them in Nandos bbq marinade is just as good 1 Link to comment
daytripping
Veggies should stay away from barbies, a time and a place for everything, barbies and when you're making bacon rolls are not that time. What a hellish life to live, WHY???? Link to comment
looksgoodinred
Love fish on a barby but there's always some veggie cock or something who objects to it being anywhere near anything they're eating. if you get a really big cave-man style grill with lots of grilling surface, you can put the vegetarian stuff in a metal sort of tray.. so it doesn't touch the grill or other things. or are the meat fumes wafting over their food enough to contaminate it? ChutneyLove
Vegetarians are normally either: i) Pooftersii) Folk with a medical issueiii) Fearty wimmin There's no real reason why a biped with forward facing ocular capability and incisors should not be eating meat - unless they fall into one of the categories above. On a barbie I do like very thinly sliced marinated steak - just about two minutes on the hot plate. Any kind of steak really - that's what BBQs are for - steak. 3 Link to comment

All comes down to the budget which is mostly poor especially on drilling rigs. Depends the chef though some do a good job with what they've got others seem to make do with serving pish.
