Good stuff for Ryan Jack.

Quite an experimental squad by the looks of it (well from midfield forwards).

Based on his last outing for a Scotland team though, I hope he doesn't pick up any kind of injury that puts him out for pre-season/start of next season.

Brilliant for Ryan Jack and terrific timing for Aberdeen (unless he gets injured). Aberdeen players getting selected for international duty will surely make us a more attractive proposition to any potential new signing.

Fair bit of talent in the midfield and forward areas. Initial thoughts, going away to Croatia, it'd line up the midfield and forwards like so:

-----------------------Griffiths----------------------

------------------Morrison--------------------------

Mackay-Steven Bridcutt Brown Snodgrass

No fucking clue what I'd do with defence though! Still looks dreadful!

Fail to understand why Mark Reynolds, ever present in the second best defence in the SPL this season, doesn't get a call-up, whilst the likes of Andy Webster and Gordon Greer do.

Anyway, good news regarding Ryan Jack, and nice to see the likes of Armstrong, Conway and Griffiths in the squad too.

Delighted for Jack. This clearly shows the benefit of playing first team SPL football against sitting on the bench / in the stands in the EPL. He may not get a run out but I fully expect him to benefit from the experience and hopefully he will go on to make his debut and win a number of caps. He's impressed me no end since he came into the side. Very comfortable on the ball and I think we will see more of him in the middle of the park under the new regime. He's application to the cause puts the likes of Hughes to shame.

Good point on Reynolds, he certainly has the pace which Scotland lack at centre half.

With the exception of Greer, it is encouraging to see that Strachan is blooding some younger players...right thing to do since this qualifying campaign is all but over.

Good to see Strachan planning for the future by calling up 32 year old Gordon Greer for the first time.

I don't think he's quite ready to make the step up yet. Perhaps Strachan thinks it's a good idea to include him in the squad just so he knows what to expect when he finally comes of age.

Nice one Jacko

So his future is definitely in CM?

Hope he gets a cap so we can use that to add a few hundred thousand to his valuation!
