ChutneyLove
The dog that plays the piano on The Muppets (Ralph?) was a parody of Manzarek - watch the style of his head movement next time you see a clip. The Doors had loads of tracks with big instrumental sections which were often keyboard dominated, so RM was certainly at the top of his game. When interviewed was always puffing on a cigarette, maybe they kick-started the cancer? Can't really see John Densmore and Robbie Krieger making much of a successful two-piece! RIP Ray, have spent many hours listening to your stuff - and will continue to do so. Link to comment
Ke1t
Saw The Doors a few years back, with Ian Astbury doing vocals. For the first few songs he sounded exactly like Morrison, an effect heightened by the fact he had grown his hair out a-la Morrison. Closest I'll ever get to seeing the original Doors, and it was fucking brilliant. 2 Link to comment

Robbie Winters
Ray Manzarek's death has prompted me to bung on some classic Doors tracks over the last couple of days, utterly fucking brilliant as I had not listened to them for a year or so. I would loved have to have seen them live back in the day. Always thought Kyle MacLachnans take on him was pretty damn good in the biopic Link to comment
