STANDfreeSCOTTY
Just wondered what peoples views are. living down Edinburgh way, many Hearts fans are saying there history would continue if they got liquidated. We all know the history would end, and they would be a brand new club, but what if it was Aberdeen? If Aberdeen were liquidated, would you claim we were still the same club who won in Gothenburg? muttonhumper
If Aberdeen were liquidated, would you claim we were still the same club who won in Gothenburg? What do you mean by "we"? We as in a newly formed phoenix club a la Sevco? If that's what you mean, then no.I wouldn't claim we were the same club.Because we clearly wouldn't be.That sort of stuff is for dimwitted, triumphalist bigots. Wouldn't stop me from being proud of that day in '83, nor would it stop me from perhaps supporting the new club. But to claim it's the same?Er, no. Link to comment

We all know the history would end, and they would be a brand new club, but what if it was Aberdeen? If Aberdeen were liquidated, would you claim we were still the same club who won in Gothenburg? Most Hearts fans that I know are saying that the history would not continue, and they'd accept the fact they were a brand new club. As MH has said with regards to how he'd feel about Gothenburg, these Hearts fans are saying they'd still be proud of their win over Hibs in the final, but wouldn't be going on about it in the same manner, because it wasn't an achievement by the new club. Had it not been for the Huns last year, I'm pretty sure they'd support any Newco like the Oldco, but it would be an embarrassing state of affairs to be so hypocritical on the issue now, and would add fuel to the fire of the filth. STANDfreeSCOTTY
Putting integrity to one side, it'd be hilarious to see a new Hearts voted straight back into the top league with no questions asked. Huns would be beelin'If I didn't hate hearts so much, I would actually like to see it. Fuck Sporting integrity, thier is no such thing in Scottish football. Link to comment
